1980 narrators appear in the chains of Sahih al-Bukhari; 1465 of them are persons identified through rijal sources.

The default order follows the number of hadiths the narrator is the first transmitter of (usually a Companion); the "chain" column counts the hadiths in whose chain he appears as any link. Short spellings whose identity could not be established (e.g. "Sufyan": no evidence to tell al-Thawri from Ibn Uyayna) are listed as separate, marked rows.
