Yusuf Ali (English) Therein will they recline (at ease): Therein can they call (at pleasure) for fruit in abundance,(4208) and (delicious) drink;*
552 Sad Verse 53 (38:53:1) هٰذَا هذا hâżâ This هَٰذَا
Yusuf Ali (English) Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account!
553 Sad Verse 57 (38:57:1) هٰذَاۙ هذا hâżâ This (is so) هَٰذَا
Yusuf Ali (English) Yea, such! - then shall they taste it,- a boiling fluid, and a fluid(4213) dark, murky, intensely cold!-*
554 Sad Verse 59 (38:59:1) هٰذَا هذا hâżâ This هَٰذَا
Yusuf Ali (English) Here is a troop rushing headlong with you!(4214) No welcome for them! truly, they shall burn in the Fire!*
555 Sad Verse 86 (38:86:3) اَسْـَٔلُكُمْ اسـلكم es-elukum I ask of you س أ ل
Yusuf Ali (English) Say: "No reward do I ask(4238) of you for this (Qur´an), nor am I a pretender.(4239)*
556 Az-Zumar Verse 4 (39:4:2) اَرَادَ اراد erâda Allah (had) intended ر و د
Yusuf Ali (English) Had Allah wished to take to Himself a son, He could have chosen whom He pleased out of those whom He(4246) doth create: but Glory be to Him! (He is above such things.) He is Allah, the One, the Irresistible.*
557 Az-Zumar Verse 6 (39:6:26) ذٰلِكُمُ ذلكم żâlikumu That ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) He created you (all) from a single Person:(4249) then created, of like nature, his mate; and he sent down for you eight head(4250) of cattle in pairs: He makes you, in the wombs of your mothers, in stages, one after another,(4251) in three veils of darkness.(4252) such is Allah, your Lord and Cherisher: to Him belongs (all) dominion. There is no god but He: then how are ye turned away(4253) (from your true Centre)?*
558 Az-Zumar Verse 15 (39:15:16) ذٰلِكَ ذلك żâlike that ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) "Serve ye what ye will(4264) besides him." Say: "Truly, those in loss are those who lose their own souls and their People(4265) on the Day of Judgment: Ah! that is indeed the (real and) evident Loss!*
559 Az-Zumar Verse 16 (39:16:10) ذٰلِكَ ذلك żâlike (With) that ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) They shall have Layers(4266) of Fire above them, and Layers (of Fire) below them: with this doth Allah warn off(4267) his servants: "O My Servants! then fear ye Me!"*
560 Az-Zumar Verse 18 (39:18:6) اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ اولئك ulâike those أُولَٰئِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) Those who listen to the Word, and follow the best (meaning) in it:(4269) those are the ones whom Allah has guided, and those are the ones endued with understanding.*
561 Az-Zumar Verse 18 (39:18:10) وَاُو۬لٰٓئِكَ واولئك ve ulâike and those أُولَٰئِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) Those who listen to the Word, and follow the best (meaning) in it:(4269) those are the ones whom Allah has guided, and those are the ones endued with understanding.*
562 Az-Zumar Verse 23 (39:23:21) ذٰلِكَ ذلك żâlike That ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) Allah has revealed (from time to time) the most beautiful Message in the form of a Book, consistent with itself,(4276) (yet) repeating (its teaching in various aspects):(4277) the skins of those who fear their Lord tremble(4278) thereat; then their skins and their hearts do soften to the celebration of Allah's praises. Such is the guidance of Allah. He guides therewith whom He pleases,(4279) but such as Allah leaves to stray, can have none to guide.*
563 Az-Zumar Verse 33 (39:33:6) اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ اولئك ulâike those أُولَٰئِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) And he who brings the Truth and he who confirms(4293) (and supports) it - such are the men who do right.*
564 Az-Zumar Verse 34 (39:34:6) ذٰلِكَ ذلك żâlike That ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) They shall have all that they wish for,(4294) in the presence of their Lord: such is the reward of those who do good:*
565 Az-Zumar Verse 38 (39:38:17) اَرَادَنِيَ ارادني erâdeniya Allah intended for me ر و د
Yusuf Ali (English) If indeed thou ask them who it is that created(4299) the heavens and the earth, they would be sure to say, "(Allah)". Say: "See ye then? the things that ye invoke besides Allah,- can they, if Allah wills some Penalty for me, remove His Penalty?- Or if He wills some Grace for me, can they keep back(4300) his Grace?" Say: "Sufficient is Allah for me! In Him trust those who put their trust."(4301)*
566 Az-Zumar Verse 63 (39:63:9) اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ اولئك ulâike those أُولَٰئِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth: and those who reject the Signs of Allah,- it is they who will(4336) be in loss.*
567 Ghafir Verse 9 (40:9:9) وَذٰلِكَ وذلك ve żâlike And that ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) "And preserve them from (all) ills; and any whom Thou dost preserve from ills(4368) that Day,- on them wilt Thou have bestowed Mercy indeed: and that will be truly (for them) the highest Achievement".(4369)*
568 Ghafir Verse 31 (40:31:12) يُر۪يدُ يريد yurîdu want ر و د
Yusuf Ali (English) "Something like the fate of the People of Noah, the ´Ad, and the Thamud, and those who came after them: but Allah never wishes injustice(4403) to his Servants.*
569 Ghafir Verse 34 (40:34:24) كَذٰلِكَ كذلك keżâlike Thus ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) "And to you there came Joseph in times gone by,(4405) with Clear Signs, but ye ceased not to doubt of the (Mission) for which he had come: At length, when he died, ye said: ´No messenger will Allah send(4406) after him.´ thus doth Allah leave to stray such as transgress and live in doubt,-*
570 Ghafir Verse 35 (40:35:16) كَذٰلِكَ كذلك keżâlike Thus ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) "(Such) as dispute about the Signs of Allah, without any authority that hath reached them, grievous and odious (is such conduct) in the sight of Allah and of the Believers. Thus doth Allah seal up(4407) every heart - of arrogant and obstinate Transgressors."*
571 Ghafir Verse 40 (40:40:17) فَاُو۬لٰٓئِكَ فاولئك fe-ulâike then those أُولَٰئِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) "He that works evil will not be requited but by the like thereof: and he that works a righteous deed - whether man or woman - and is a Believer- such will enter the Garden (of Bliss): Therein will they have abundance(4413) without measure.*
572 Ghafir Verse 43 (40:43:20) هُمْ هم hum they هُم
Yusuf Ali (English) "Without doubt ye do call me to one who is not fit to be called to,(4416) whether in this world, or in the Hereafter; our return will be to Allah. and the Transgressors will be Companions of the Fire!*
573 Ghafir Verse 62 (40:62:1) ذٰلِكُمُ ذلكم żâlikumu That ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) Such is Allah, your Lord, the Creator of all things, there is no god but He: Then how ye are deluded(4436) away from the Truth!*
574 Ghafir Verse 63 (40:63:1) كَذٰلِكَ كذلك keżâlike Thus ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) Thus are deluded those(4437) who are wont to reject the Signs of Allah.*
575 Ghafir Verse 64 (40:64:15) ذٰلِكُمُ ذلكم żâlikumu That ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) It is Allah Who has(4438) made for you the earth as a resting place,(4439) and the sky as a canopy, and has given you shape-(4440) and made your shapes beautiful,- and has provided for you Sustenance,(4441) of things pure and good;- such is Allah your Lord. So Glory to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds!*
576 Ghafir Verse 74 (40:74:14) كَذٰلِكَ كذلك keżâlike Thus ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) "In derogation of Allah." They will reply: "They have(4450) left us in the lurch: Nay, we invoked not, of old, anything (that had real existence)." Thus does Allah leave the Unbelievers to stray.*
577 Fussilat Verse 5 (41:5:15) فَاعْمَلْ فاعمل fa’mel So work ع م ل
Yusuf Ali (English) They say: "Our hearts are(4465) under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears in a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do(4466) thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)"*
578 Fussilat Verse 11 (41:11:11) طَوْعًا طوعا tav’an willingly ط و ع
Yusuf Ali (English) Moreover He comprehended(4474) in His design the sky,(4475) and it had been (as) smoke: He said to it and to the earth: "Come ye together,(4476) willingly or unwillingly." They said: "We do come (together), in willing obedience."*
579 Fussilat Verse 11 (41:11:13) كَرْهًاۜ كرها kerhen unwillingly ك ر ه
Yusuf Ali (English) Moreover He comprehended(4474) in His design the sky,(4475) and it had been (as) smoke: He said to it and to the earth: "Come ye together,(4476) willingly or unwillingly." They said: "We do come (together), in willing obedience."*
580 Fussilat Verse 11 (41:11:16) طَٓائِع۪ينَ طائعين tâi’în(e) willingly ط و ع
Yusuf Ali (English) Moreover He comprehended(4474) in His design the sky,(4475) and it had been (as) smoke: He said to it and to the earth: "Come ye together,(4476) willingly or unwillingly." They said: "We do come (together), in willing obedience."*
581 Fussilat Verse 12 (41:12:16) ذٰلِكَ ذلك żâlike That ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) So He completed them as seven firmaments in two Days,(4477) and He assigned to each heaven its duty and command. And We adorned the lower heaven with lights, and (provided it)(4478) with guard. Such is the Decree of (Him) the Exalted in Might, Full of Knowledge.*
582 Fussilat Verse 21 (41:21:17) وَاِلَيْهِ واليه ve ileyhi and to Him إِلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) They will say to their skins:(4488) "Why bear ye witness against us?" They will say: "(Allah) hath given us speech,- (He) Who giveth speech to everything: He created you for the first time, and unto Him were ye to return.*
583 Fussilat Verse 23 (41:23:1) وَذٰلِكُمْ وذلكم ve żâlikum And that ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) "But this thought of yours(4490) which ye did entertain concerning your Lord, hath brought you to destruction, and (now) have ye become of those utterly lost!"*
584 Fussilat Verse 24 (41:24:7) يَسْتَعْتِبُوا يستعتبوا yesta’tibû they ask for favor ع ت ب
Yusuf Ali (English) If, then, they have patience,(4491) the Fire will be a home for them! and if they beg to be received into favour, into favour will they not (then) be received.*
585 Fussilat Verse 31 (41:31:16) تَدَّعُونَۜ تدعون tedde’ûn(e) you ask د ع و
Yusuf Ali (English) "We are your protectors(4500) in this life and in the Hereafter: therein shall ye have all that your souls(4501) shall desire; therein shall ye have all that ye ask for!-*
586 Fussilat Verse 49 (41:49:5) دُعَٓاءِ دعاء du’â-i praying د ع و
Yusuf Ali (English) Man does not weary(4521) of asking for good (things), but if ill touches him, he gives up all hope (and) is lost in despair.*
587 Ash-Shura Verse 10 (42:10:9) ذٰلِكُمُ ذلكم żâlikumu That ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) Whatever it be wherein ye differ, the decision thereof is with Allah.(4538) such is Allah my Lord: In Him I trust, and to Him I turn.*
588 Ash-Shura Verse 18 (42:18:1) يَسْتَعْجِلُ يستعجل yesta’cilu Seek to hasten ع ج ل
Yusuf Ali (English) Only those wish to(4551) hasten it who believe not in it: those who believe hold it in awe, and know that it is the Truth. Behold, verily those that dispute concerning the Hour are far astray.*
589 Ash-Shura Verse 22 (42:22:21) ذٰلِكَ ذلك żâlike That ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) Thou wilt see the wrongdoers(4557) in fear on account of what they have earned, and (the burden of) that must (necessarily) fall on them. But those who believe and work righteous deeds will be in the luxuriant meads(4558) of the Gardens: they shall have, before their Lord, all that they wish for. That will indeed be the magnificent Bounty (of Allah..*
590 Ash-Shura Verse 23 (42:23:12) اَسْـَٔلُكُمْ اسـلكم es-elukum I ask you س أ ل
Yusuf Ali (English) That is (the Bounty) whereof(4559) Allah gives Glad Tidings to His Servants who believe and do righteous deeds. Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this except the love of those near of kin."(4560) And if any one earns any good, We shall give him an increase of good in respect thereof: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Ready(4561) to appreciate (service).*
591 Ash-Shura Verse 42 (42:42:12) اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ اولئك ulâike Those أُولَٰئِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) The blame is only(4585) against those who oppress men and wrong-doing and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land, defying right and justice: for such there will be a penalty grievous.*
592 Ash-Shura Verse 52 (42:52:1) وَكَذٰلِكَ وكذلك ve keżâlike And thus ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) And thus have We, by Our Command, sent inspiration to thee: thou knewest not (before)(4601) what was Revelation, and what was Faith; but We have made the (Qur´an) a Light, wherewith We guide such of Our servants as We will; and verily thou dost guide (men)(4602) to the Straight Way,-*
593 Az-Zukhruf Verse 11 (43:11:11) كَذٰلِكَ كذلك keżâlike thus ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) That sends down (from time to time) rain from the sky in due measure;-(4614) and We raise to life therewith a land that is dead; even so will ye be raised (from the dead);-(4615)*
594 Az-Zukhruf Verse 23 (43:23:1) وَكَذٰلِكَ وكذلك ve keżâlike And thus ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) Just in the same way, whenever We sent a Warner before thee to any people, the wealthy ones among them(4628) said: "We found our fathers following a certain religion, and we will certainly follow in their footsteps."*
595 Az-Zukhruf Verse 72 (43:72:1) وَتِلْكَ وتلك ve tilke And this ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) Such will be the Garden of which ye are made(4670) heirs for your (good) deeds (in life).*
596 Ad-Dukhan Verse 28 (44:28:1) كَذٰلِكَ۠ كذلك keżâlik(e) Thus ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) Thus (was their end)! And We made other people inherit (those things)!
597 Ad-Dukhan Verse 55 (44:55:1) يَدْعُونَ يدعون yed’ûne They will call د ع و
Yusuf Ali (English) There can they call for every kind of fruit(4730) in peace and security;*
598 Ad-Dukhan Verse 57 (44:57:4) ذٰلِكَ ذلك żâlike That ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) As a Bounty from thy Lord! that will be the supreme achievement!(4733)*
599 Al-Jathiyah Verse 6 (45:6:1) تِلْكَ تلك tilke These ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) Such are the Signs(4741) of Allah, which We rehearse to thee in Truth; then in what exposition will they believe after (rejecting) Allah and His Signs?*
