Yusuf Ali (English) Permitted to you, on the night of the fasts, is the approach to your wives. They are your garments and ye are their garments(195). Allah knoweth what ye used to do secretly among yourselves; but He turned to you and forgave you; so now associate with them, and seek what Allah Hath ordained for you(196), and eat and drink, until the white thread of dawn appear to you distinct from its black thread(197); then complete your fast Till the night appears(198); but do not associate with your wives while ye are in retreat(199) in the mosques. Those are(200) Limits (set by) Allah. Approach not nigh thereto. Thus doth Allah make clear His Signs to men: that they may learn self-restraint.*
5 Al-Baqarah Verse 196 (2:196:56) تِلْكَ تلك tilke This ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) And complete the Hajj or Umrah(212) in the service of Allah. But if ye are prevented (From completing it), send an offering for sacrifice, such as ye may find, and do not shave your heads until the offering reaches the place of sacrifice. And if any of you is ill(213), or has an ailment in his scalp, (Necessitating shaving), (He should) in compensation either fast, or feed the poor, or offer sacrifice; and when ye are in peaceful conditions (again)(214), if any one wishes to continue the ´Umrah on to the Hajj, He must make an offering, such as he can afford, but if he cannot afford it, He should fast three days during the Hajj and seven days on his return, Making ten days in all. This is for those whose household is not in (the precincts(215) of) the Sacred Mosque. And fear Allah, and know that Allah Is strict in punishment(216).*
6 Al-Baqarah Verse 229 (2:229:35) تِلْكَ تلك tilke These ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) A divorce is only(256) permissible twice: after that, the parties should either hold Together on equitable terms, or separate with kindness.(257) It is not lawful for you, (Men), to take back any of your gifts (from your wives), except when both parties fear that they would be unable to keep the limits ordained by Allah.(258) If ye (judges) do indeed fear that they would be unable to keep the limits ordained by Allah, there is no blame on either of them if she give something for her freedom. These are the limits ordained by Allah. so do not transgress them if any do transgress the limits ordained by Allah, such persons wrong (Themselves as well as others).(259)*
7 Al-Baqarah Verse 230 (2:230:25) وَتِلْكَ وتلك ve tilke And these ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) So if a husband divorces his wife (irrevocably)(260), he cannot, after that, remarry her until after she has married another husband and he has divorced her. In that case there is no blame on either of them if they reunite, provided they feel that they can keep the limits ordained by Allah. Such are the limits ordained by Allah, which He makes plain to those who understand.*
8 Al-Baqarah Verse 252 (2:252:1) تِلْكَ تلك tilke These ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) These are the Signs of Allah. we rehearse them to thee in truth: verily Thou art one of the messengers.
9 Al-Baqarah Verse 253 (2:253:1) تِلْكَ تلك tilke These ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) Those messengers We endowed with gifts, some above others(289): To one of them Allah spoke(290); others He raised to degrees (of honour)(291); to Jesus the son of Mary We gave clear (Signs)(292), and strengthened him with the holy spirit(292-A). If Allah had so willed, succeeding generations would not have fought among each other, after clear (Signs) had come to them, but they (chose) to wrangle, some believing and others rejecting. If Allah had so willed, they would not have fought each other; but Allah Fulfilleth His plan(293).*
10 Ali 'Imran Verse 108 (3:108:1) تِلْكَ تلك tilke These ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) These are the Signs of Allah. We rehearse them to thee in Truth: And Allah means no injustice to any of His creatures.
11 Ali 'Imran Verse 140 (3:140:9) وَتِلْكَ وتلك ve tilke And this ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) If a wound hath touched you,(457) be sure a similar wound hath touched the others. Such days (of varying fortunes) We give to men and men by turns: that Allah may know those that believe, and that He may take to Himself from your ranks Martyr-witnesses (to Truth). And Allah loveth not those that do wrong.*
12 An-Nisa Verse 13 (4:13:1) تِلْكَ تلك tilke These ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) Those are limits set by Allah. those who obey Allah and His Messenger will be admitted to Gardens with rivers flowing beneath, to abide therein (for ever) and that will be the supreme achievement.(522-A)*
13 Al-An'am Verse 83 (6:83:1) وَتِلْكَ وتلك ve tilke And this ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) That was the reasoning about Us, which We gave to Abraham (to use) against his people:(902) We raise whom We will, degree after degree: for thy Lord is full of wisdom and knowledge.*
14 Al-A'raf Verse 101 (7:101:1) تِلْكَ تلك tilke These ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) Such were the towns whose story We (thus) relate unto thee: There came indeed to them their messengers with clear (signs): But they would not believe what they had rejected before.(1070) Thus doth Allah seal up the hearts of those who reject faith.*
15 Yunus Verse 1 (10:1:0) تِلْكَ تلك tilke These ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) A.L.R.(1381) These are the Ayat(1382) of the Book of Wisdom.*

Yusuf Ali (English) Such are some of the stories of the unseen, which We have revealed unto thee: before this, neither thou nor thy people knew them. So persevere patiently: for the End is for those who are righteous.(1544)*

Yusuf Ali (English) And how many populations We destroyed, which exulted in their life (of ease and plenty)! now those habitations of theirs, after them, are deserted,- All but a (miserable) few! and We are their heirs!(3390)*

Yusuf Ali (English) That Home of the Hereafter We shall give to those who intend not high- handedness or mischief on earth:(3413) and the end is (best) for the righteous.*
33 Al-'Ankabut Verse 43 (29:43:1) وَتِلْكَ وتلك ve tilke And these ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) And such are the Parables We set forth for mankind, but only those understand them who have Knowledge.(3469)*

Yusuf Ali (English) Such will be the Garden of which ye are made(4670) heirs for your (good) deeds (in life).*

Yusuf Ali (English) Such are the Signs(4741) of Allah, which We rehearse to thee in Truth; then in what exposition will they believe after (rejecting) Allah and His Signs?*
37 An-Najm Verse 22 (53:22:1) تِلْكَ تلك tilke This ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) Behold, such would be indeed a division most unfair!
38 Al-Mujadila Verse 4 (58:4:21) وَتِلْكَ وتلك ve tilke and these ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) And if any has not (the wherewithal),(5336) he should fast for two months consecutively before they touch each other. But if any is unable to do so, he should feed sixty indigent ones.(5337) This, that ye may show your faith in Allah(5338) and His Messenger. Those are limits (set by) Allah. For those who reject (Him), there is a grievous Penalty.(5339)*
39 Al-Hashr Verse 21 (59:21:13) وَتِلْكَ وتلك ve tilke And these ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) Had We sent down this Qur´an on a mountain,(5398) verily, thou wouldst have seen it humble itself and cleave(5399) asunder for fear of Allah. Such are the similitudes which We propound to men, that they may reflect.*
40 At-Talaq Verse 1 (65:1:25) وَتِلْكَ وتلك ve tilke And these ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) O Prophet!(5503) When ye do divorce women,(5504) divorce them at their prescribed periods,(5505) and count (accurately), their prescribed periods: And fear Allah your Lord:(5506) and turn them not out of their houses, nor shall they (themselves) leave,(5507) except in case they are guilty of some open lewdness, those are limits set by Allah. and any who transgresses the limits of Allah, does verily wrong his (own) soul: thou knowest not if perchance Allah will bring about thereafter some new situation.(5508)*
41 An-Nazi'at Verse 12 (79:12:2) تِلْكَ تلك tilke This ذَٰلِكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!"
