Yusuf Ali (English) After (the excitement) of the distress, He sent down calm on a band of you overcome with slumber,(465) while another band was stirred to anxiety by their own feelings, Moved by wrong suspicions of Allah.suspicions due to ignorance. They said: "What affair is this of ours?"(466) Say thou: "Indeed, this affair is wholly Allah.s." They hide in their minds what they dare not reveal to thee. They say (to themselves): "If we had had anything to do with this affair, We should not have been in the slaughter here." Say: "Even if you had remained in your homes, those for whom death was decreed would certainly have gone forth to the place of their death"; but (all this was)(467) that Allah might test what is in your breasts and purge what is in your hearts. For Allah knoweth well the secrets of your hearts.*

7 Ali 'Imran Verse 159 (3:159:21) الْاَمْرِۚ الامر l-emr(i) the matter أ م ر
Yusuf Ali (English) It is part of the Mercy of Allah that thou dost deal gently with them(471) Wert thou severe or harshhearted, they would have broken away from about thee: so pass over (Their faults), and ask for ((Allah)´s) forgiveness for them; and consult them in affairs (of moment). Then, when thou hast Taken a decision put thy trust in Allah. For Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him).*
8 An-Nisa Verse 59 (4:59:10) الْاَمْرِ الامر l-emri (having) authority أ م ر
Yusuf Ali (English) O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you.(580) If ye differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if ye do believe in Allah and the Last Day: That is best, and most suitable for final determination.*
9 An-Nisa Verse 83 (4:83:16) الْاَمْرِ الامر l-emri (having) authority أ م ر
Yusuf Ali (English) When there comes to them some matter touching (Public) safety or fear, they divulge it. If they had only referred it to the Messenger, or to those charged with authority among them, the proper investigators would have Tested it from them (direct). Were it not for the Grace and Mercy of Allah unto you, all but a few of you would have fallen into the clutches of Satan.(602)*
10 An-Nisa Verse 119 (4:119:3) وَلَاٰمُرَنَّهُمْ ولامرنهم ve leâmurannehum and surely I will order them أ م ر
Yusuf Ali (English) "I will mislead them,(629) and I will create in them false desires; I will order them to slit the ears(630) of cattle, and to deface the (fair) nature created(631) by Allah." Whoever, forsaking Allah, takes satan for a friend, hath of a surety suffered a loss that is manifest.*
11 An-Nisa Verse 119 (4:119:7) وَلَاٰمُرَنَّهُمْ ولامرنهم ve leâmurannehum and surely I will order them أ م ر
Yusuf Ali (English) "I will mislead them,(629) and I will create in them false desires; I will order them to slit the ears(630) of cattle, and to deface the (fair) nature created(631) by Allah." Whoever, forsaking Allah, takes satan for a friend, hath of a surety suffered a loss that is manifest.*

Yusuf Ali (English) They say: "Why is not an angel sent down to him?" If we did send down an angel, the matter would be settled at once, and no respite would be granted them.(841)*

Yusuf Ali (English) Remember in thy dream Allah showed them to thee as few: if He had shown them to thee as many, ye would surely have been discouraged, and ye would surely have disputed in (your) decision; but Allah saved (you): for He knoweth well the (secrets) of (all) hearts.

No intercessor (can plead with Him) except after His leave (hath been obtained). This is Allah your Lord; Him therefore serve ye: will ye not then be of warned?(1387)*
19 Yunus Verse 31 (10:31:0) الْاَمْرَۜ الامر l-emr(a) the affairs أ م ر
Yusuf Ali (English) Say: "Who is it that sustains you (in life) from the sky and from the earth?(1422) or who is it that has power over hearing(1423) and sight? And who is it that brings out the living from the dead and the dead from the living?(1424) and who is it that rules and regulates all affairs?"(1425) They will soon say, "(Allah)". Say, "will ye not then show piety (to Him)?"*

Yusuf Ali (English) The man in Egypt(1659) who bought him, said to his wife: "Make his stay (among us) honourable:(1660) may be he will bring us much good, or we shall adopt him as a son." Thus did We establish Joseph in the land,(1661) that We might teach him the interpretation of stories(1662) (and events). And Allah hath full power and control over His affairs; but most among mankind know it not.(1663)*
23 Yusuf Verse 41 (12:41:17) الْاَمْرُ الامر l-emru the matter أ م ر
Yusuf Ali (English) "O my two companions(1694) of the prison! As to one of you, he will pour out the wine for his lord to drink:(1695) as for the other, he will hang from the cross, and the birds will eat from off his head(1696). (So) hath been decreed that matter whereof ye twain do enquire"...*

Each one runs (its course) for a term appointed. He doth regulate all affairs,(1802) explaining the signs in detail, that ye may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord.(1803)*
25 Ar-Ra'd Verse 31 (13:31:17) الْاَمْرُ الامر l-emru (is) the command أ م ر
Yusuf Ali (English) If there were a Qur´an with which mountains were moved, or the earth were cloven asunder, or the dead were made to speak, (this would be the one!) But, truly, the command is with Allah in all things!(1847) Do not the Believers know, that, had Allah (so) willed, He could have guided all mankind (to the right)? But the Unbelievers,- never will disaster cease to seize them for their (ill) deeds, or to settle close to their homes, until the promise of Allah come to pass, for, verily, Allah will not fail in His promise.(1848)*
26 Ibrahim Verse 22 (14:22:5) الْاَمْرُ الامر l-emru the matter أ م ر
Yusuf Ali (English) And Satan will say when the matter is decided:(1897) "It was Allah Who gave you a promise of Truth: I too promised, but I failed in my promise to you. I had no authority over you except to call you but ye listened to me: then reproach not me, but reproach your own souls. I cannot listen to your cries, nor can ye listen to mine. I reject(1898) your former act in associating me with Allah. For wrong-doers there must be a grievous penalty."*

Yusuf Ali (English) And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning.(1991)*

Verily thy Lord will judge between them on the Day of Judgment as to those matters in which they set up differences.*

Yusuf Ali (English) Then We put thee on the (right) Way(4756) of Religion: so follow thou that (Way), and follow not the desires of those who know not.*
