Yusuf Ali (English) Permitted to you, on the night of the fasts, is the approach to your wives. They are your garments and ye are their garments(195). Allah knoweth what ye used to do secretly among yourselves; but He turned to you and forgave you; so now associate with them, and seek what Allah Hath ordained for you(196), and eat and drink, until the white thread of dawn appear to you distinct from its black thread(197); then complete your fast Till the night appears(198); but do not associate with your wives while ye are in retreat(199) in the mosques. Those are(200) Limits (set by) Allah. Approach not nigh thereto. Thus doth Allah make clear His Signs to men: that they may learn self-restraint.*
3 Al-Baqarah Verse 221 (2:221:38) لَعَلَّهُمْ لعلهم le’allehum so that they may  لَعَلَّكُمْ
Yusuf Ali (English) Do not marry unbelieving(245-A) women (idolaters), until they believe: A slave woman who believes is better than an unbelieving woman, even though she allures you. Nor marry (your girls) to unbelievers until they believe: A man slave who believes is better than an unbeliever, even though he allures you. Unbelievers do (but) beckon you to the Fire. But Allah beckons by His Grace to the Garden (of bliss) and forgiveness, and makes His Signs clear to mankind: That they may celebrate His praise.*
4 Ali 'Imran Verse 72 (3:72:16) لَعَلَّهُمْ لعلهم le’allehum perhaps they may  لَعَلَّكُمْ
Yusuf Ali (English) A section of the People of the Book say: "Believe in the morning(406) what is revealed to the believers, but reject it at the end of the day; perchance they may (themselves) Turn back;*

Yusuf Ali (English) On their account no responsibility falls on the righteous,(892) but (their duty) is to remind them, that they may (learn to) fear Allah.*
9 Al-An'am Verse 154 (6:154:14) لَعَلَّهُمْ لعلهم le’allehum so that they may  لَعَلَّكُمْ
Yusuf Ali (English) Moreover, We gave Moses the Book, completing (Our favour) to those who would do right, and explaining all things(980) in detail,- and a guide and a mercy, that they might believe in the meeting with their Lord.*

Yusuf Ali (English) O ye Children of Adam! We have bestowed raiment(1008) upon you to cover your shame, as well as to be an adornment to you. But the raiment of righteousness,- that is the best. Such are among the Signs of Allah, that they may receive admonition!*
11 Al-A'raf Verse 94 (7:94:12) لَعَلَّهُمْ لعلهم le’allehum so that they may  لَعَلَّكُمْ
Yusuf Ali (English) Whenever We sent a prophet to a town, We took up its people in suffering and adversity, in order that they might learn humility.(1065)*
12 Al-A'raf Verse 130 (7:130:9) لَعَلَّهُمْ لعلهم le’allehum so that they may  لَعَلَّكُمْ
Yusuf Ali (English) We punished the people of Pharaoh with years (of droughts) and shortness of crops; that they might receive admonition.

Yusuf Ali (English) We broke them up into sections on this earth.(1141) There are among them some that are the righteous, and some that are the opposite. We have tried them with both prosperity and adversity: In order that they might turn (to us).*

Yusuf Ali (English) Thus do We explain the signs in detail; and perchance they may turn (unto Us).

Yusuf Ali (English) If it had been Our will, We should have elevated him with Our signs; but he inclined to the earth, and followed his own vain desires.(1150) His similitude is that of a dog: if you attack him, he lolls out his tongue,(1151) or if you leave him alone, he (still) lolls out his tongue. That is the similitude of those who reject Our signs; So relate the story; perchance they may reflect.*

Yusuf Ali (English) (We sent them) with Clear Signs and Scriptures(2070); and We have sent down unto thee (also) the Message; that thou mayest explain clearly to men what is sent for them, and that they may give thought.*

Yusuf Ali (English) And indeed We will make them taste of the Penalty of this (life) prior to(3654) the supreme Penalty, in order that they may (repent and) return.*

Yusuf Ali (English) If Allah were to hasten for men the ill (they have earned) as they would fain hasten on the good,- then would their respite be settled at once.(1398) But We leave those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, in their trespasses, wandering in distraction to and fro.*
48 Yunus Verse 49 (10:49:0) اَجَلُهُمْ اجلهم eceluhum their term أ ج ل
Yusuf Ali (English) Say: "I have no power(1440) over any harm or profit to myself except as Allah willeth. To every People(1441) is a term appointed: when their term is reached, not an hour can they cause delay, nor (an hour) can they advance (it in anticipation)."*
49 An-Nahl Verse 61 (16:61:18) اَجَلُهُمْ اجلهم eceluhum their terms أ ج ل
Yusuf Ali (English) If Allah were to punish men for their wrong-doing, He would not leave, on the (earth), a single living creature: but He gives them respite for a stated Term: When their Term expires, they would not be able to delay (the punishment) for a single hour, just as they would not be able to anticipate it (for a single hour).(2087)*
50 Fatir Verse 45 (35:45:20) اَجَلُهُمْ اجلهم eceluhum their term أ ج ل
Yusuf Ali (English) If Allah were to punish(3940) men according to what they deserve. He would not leave on the back of the (earth) a single(3941) living creature: but He gives them respite for a stated Term: when their Term expires, verily Allah has in His sight(3942) all His Servants.*
