Allah knoweth what ye used to do secretly among yourselves; but He turned to you and forgave you; so now associate with them, and seek what Allah Hath ordained for you(196), and eat and drink, until the white thread of dawn appear to you distinct from its black thread(197); then complete your fast Till the night appears(198); but do not associate with your wives while ye are in retreat(199) in the mosques. Those are(200) Limits (set by) Allah. Approach not nigh thereto. Thus doth Allah make clear His Signs to men: that they may learn self-restraint.*
2 Al-Baqarah Verse 228 (2:228:8) لَهُنَّ لهن lehunne for them لَهُنَّ
Yusuf Ali (English) Divorced women shall wait concerning themselves for three monthly periods. Nor is it lawful for them to hide what Allah Hath created in their wombs, if they have faith in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands have the better right to take them back in that period, if they wish for reconciliation(254). And women shall have rights similar to the rights against them, according to what is equitable; but men have a degree (of advantage) over them(255). And Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise.*

Yusuf Ali (English) Divorced women shall wait concerning themselves for three monthly periods. Nor is it lawful for them to hide what Allah Hath created in their wombs, if they have faith in Allah and the Last Day. 4 Al-Baqarah Verse 231 (2:231:5) اَجَلَهُنَّ اجلهن ecelehunne their (waiting) term أ ج ل
Yusuf Ali (English) When ye divorce(261) women, and they are about to fulfil the term of their (´Iddat), either retain them back or let them go; but do not retain them to injure them, (or) to take undue advantage;(262) if any one does that; He wrongs his own soul. Do not treat Allah's Signs as a jest,(263) but solemnly rehearse(264) Allah.s favours on you, and the fact that He sent down to you the Book and Wisdom, for your instruction. And fear Allah, and know that Allah is well-acquainted with all things.*
5 Al-Baqarah Verse 232 (2:232:5) اَجَلَهُنَّ اجلهن ecelehunne their (waiting) term أ ج ل
Yusuf Ali (English) When ye divorce women, and they fulfil the term of their (´Iddat), do not prevent them(265) from marrying persons of their choice, if they mutually agree on equitable terms. This instruction is for all amongst you, who believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is (the course Making for) most virtue and purity amongst you and Allah knows, and ye know not.*
6 Al-Baqarah Verse 234 (2:234:13) اَجَلَهُنَّ اجلهن ecelehunne their (specified) term أ ج ل
Yusuf Ali (English) If any of you die and leave widows behind, they shall wait concerning themselves four months and ten days:(267) When they have fulfilled their term, there is no blame on you if they dispose of themselves in a just and reasonable manner. And Allah is well acquainted with what ye do.*
7 Al-Baqarah Verse 236 (2:236:12) لَهُنَّ لهن lehunne for them لَهُنَّ
Yusuf Ali (English) There is no blame on you if ye divorce women before consummation or the fixation of their dower; but bestow on them (A suitable gift), the wealthy according to his means, and the poor according to his means - A gift of a reasonable amount is due from those who wish to do the right thing.
8 Al-Baqarah Verse 237 (2:237:9) لَهُنَّ لهن lehunne for them لَهُنَّ
Yusuf Ali (English) And if ye divorce them before consummation, but after the fixation of a dower for them, then the half of the dower (Is due to them), unless they remit it or (the man´s half) is remitted(269) by him in whose hands is the marriage tie;(270) and the remission (of the man´s half) is the nearest to righteousness. And do not forget Liberality between yourselves. For Allah sees well all that ye do.*
9 An-Nisa Verse 11 (4:11:14) فَلَهُنَّ فلهن felehunne then for them لَهُنَّ
Yusuf Ali (English) Allah (thus) directs you as regards your Children´s(516) (Inheritance): to the male, a portion equal to that of two females: if only daughters, two or more,(517) their share is two-thirds of the inheritance; if only one, her share is a half. For parents, a sixth share of the inheritance to each, if the deceased left children; if no children, and the parents are the (only) heirs, the mother has a third; if the deceased Left brothers (or sisters) the mother has a sixth. (The distribution in all cases (´s) after the payment of legacies and debts. Ye know not whether your parents or your children are nearest to you in benefit. These are settled portions ordained(518) by Allah. and Allah is All-knowing, All-wise.*

Yusuf Ali (English) In what your wives leave, your share is a half, if they leave no child; but if they leave a child, ye get a fourth; after payment of legacies and debts. In what ye leave, their share is a fourth,(519) if ye leave no child; but if ye leave a child, they get an eighth; after payment of legacies and debts. If the man or woman whose inheritance is in question, has left neither ascendants nor descendants,(520) but has left a brother(521) or a sister, each one of the two gets a sixth; but if more than two, they share in a third; after payment of legacies and debts; so that no loss(522) is caused (to any one). Thus is it ordained by Allah. and Allah is All-knowing, Most Forbearing.*

Yusuf Ali (English) If any of your women are guilty of lewdness,(523) Take the evidence of four(524) (Reliable) witnesses from amongst you against them; and if they testify, confine them to houses until death do claim them, or Allah ordain for them some (other) way.(525)*
15 An-Nisa Verse 25 (4:25:25) اَهْلِهِنَّ اهلهن ehlihinne (of) their family أ ه ل
Yusuf Ali (English) If any of you have not the means wherewith to wed free believing women, they may wed believing girls from among those whom your right hands possess:(540) And Allah hath full knowledge about your faith. Ye are one from another: Wed them with the leave of their owners, and give them their dowers, according to what is reasonable: They should be chaste, not lustful, nor taking paramours: when they are taken in wedlock, if they fall into shame, their punishment is half that for free women. This (permission) is for those among you who fear sin; but it is better for you that ye practise self-restraint. And Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.*
16 An-Nisa Verse 127 (4:127:21) لَهُنَّ لهن lehunne for them لَهُنَّ
Yusuf Ali (English) They ask thy instruction concerning the women say: Allah doth instruct you about them: And (remember) what hath been rehearsed unto you(636) in the Book, concerning the orphans of women to whom ye give not the portions prescribed, and yet whom ye desire to marry, as also concerning the children who are weak and oppressed;(637) that ye stand firm for justice to orphans. There is not a good deed which ye do, but Allah is well-acquainted therewith.*
17 Yusuf Verse 31 (12:31:7) لَهُنَّ لهن lehunne for them لَهُنَّ
Yusuf Ali (English) When she heard of their malicious talk, she sent for them and prepared a banquet(1679) for them: she gave each of them a knife: and she said (to Joseph), "Come out before them." When they saw him, they did extol him, and (in their amazement) cut their hands: they said, "(Allah) preserve us! no mortal is this! this is none other than a noble angel!"*
18 Yusuf Verse 43 (12:43:8) يَأْكُلُهُنَّ يأكلهن ye/kuluhunne eating them أ ك ل
Yusuf Ali (English) The king (of Egypt) said:(1700) "I do see (in a vision) seven fat kine, whom seven lean ones devour, and seven green ears of corn, and seven (others) withered. O ye chiefs! Expound to me my vision if it be that ye can interpret visions."*

Yusuf Ali (English) "O Joseph!" (he said) "O man of truth! Expound to us (the dream) of seven fat kine whom seven lean ones devour, and of seven green ears of corn and (seven) others withered: that I may return to the people, and that they may understand."(1703)*

Yusuf Ali (English) "Then will come after that (period) seven dreadful (years), which will devour what ye shall have laid by in advance for them,- (all) except a little(1705) which ye shall have (specially) guarded.*
21 An-Nur Verse 31 (24:31:65) بِاَرْجُلِهِنَّ بارجلهن bi-erculihinne their feet ر ج ل
Yusuf Ali (English) And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard(2984) their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments(2985) except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband´s fathers, their sons, their husbands´ sons, their brothers or their brothers´ sons, or their sisters´ sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments.(2986) And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss.(2987)*
22 An-Nur Verse 60 (24:60:20) لَهُنَّۜ لهن lehun(ne) for them لَهُنَّ
Yusuf Ali (English) Such elderly women(3040) as are past the prospect of marriage,- there is no blame on them if they lay aside their (outer) garments, provided they make not a wanton display of their beauty: but it is best for them to be modest: and Allah is One Who sees and knows(3041) all things.*
23 Al-'Ankabut Verse 46 (29:46:20) وَاِلٰهُنَا والهنا ve ilâhunâ And our God أ ل ه
Yusuf Ali (English) And dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with means better(3472) (than mere disputation), unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong (and injury):(3473) but say, "We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; Our Allah and your Allah is one; and it is to Him we bow (in Islam)."(3474)*
24 Al-Ahzab Verse 51 (33:51:26) كُلُّهُنَّۜ كلهن kulluhun(ne) all of them ك ل ل
Yusuf Ali (English) Thou mayest defer (the turn(3749) of) any of them that thou pleasest, and thou mayest receive any thou pleasest: and there is no blame on thee if thou invite one whose (turn)(3750) thou hadst set aside. This were nigher to the cooling of the eyes,(3751) the prevention of their grief, and their satisfaction - that of all of them - with that which thou hast to give them:(3752) and Allah knows (all) that is in your hearts:(3753) and Allah is All- Knowing, Most Forbearing.*
25 Al-Mumtahanah Verse 10 (60:10:27) لَهُنَّۜ لهن lehun(ne) for them لَهُنَّ
Yusuf Ali (English) O ye who believe! When there come to you believing women refugees,(5422) examine (and test) them: Allah knows best as to their Faith: if ye ascertain(5423) that they are Believers, then send them not back to the Unbelievers. They are not lawful (wives) for the Unbelievers, nor are the (Unbelievers) lawful (husbands) for them. But pay the Unbelievers what they have spent (on their dower), and there will be no blame on you if ye marry them(5424) on payment of their dower to them. But hold not to the guardianship of(5425) unbelieving women: ask for what ye have spent on their dowers, and let the (Unbelievers) ask for what they have spent (on the dowers of women who come over to you). Such is the command of Allah. He judges (with justice) between you. And Allah is Full of Knowledge and Wisdom.*
26 Al-Mumtahanah Verse 12 (60:12:27) وَاَرْجُلِهِنَّ وارجلهن ve erculihinne and their feet ر ج ل
Yusuf Ali (English) O Prophet!(5427) When believing women come to thee to take the oath of fealty to thee, that they will not associate in worship any other thing whatever with Allah, that they will not steal, that they will not commit adultery (or fornication), that they will not kill their children, that they will not utter slander, intentionally forging Falsehood,(5427-A) and that they will not disobey thee in any just matter,- then do thou receive their fealty, and pray to Allah(5428) for the forgiveness (of their sins): for Allah is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful.*
27 Al-Mumtahanah Verse 12 (60:12:34) لَهُنَّ لهن lehunne for them لَهُنَّ
Yusuf Ali (English) O Prophet!(5427) When believing women come to thee to take the oath of fealty to thee, that they will not associate in worship any other thing whatever with Allah, that they will not steal, that they will not commit adultery (or fornication), that they will not kill their children, that they will not utter slander, intentionally forging Falsehood,(5427-A) and that they will not disobey thee in any just matter,- then do thou receive their fealty, and pray to Allah(5428) for the forgiveness (of their sins): for Allah is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful.*
28 At-Talaq Verse 2 (65:2:3) اَجَلَهُنَّ اجلهن ecelehunne their term أ ج ل
Yusuf Ali (English) Thus when they fulfil their term appointed, either take them back on equitable terms(5509) or part with them on equitable terms; and take for witness two persons from among you, endued with justice, and establish the evidence(5510) (As) before Allah. Such is the admonition given to him who believes in Allah and the Last Day. And for those who fear Allah, He (ever) prepares(5511) a way out,*

Yusuf Ali (English) Such of your women as have passed the age of monthly courses, for them the prescribed period, if ye have any doubts, is three months, and for those who have no courses (it is the same):(5513) for those who carry (life within their wombs), their period is until they deliver their burdens: and for those who fear Allah, He will make their path easy.(5514)*

Yusuf Ali (English) Let the women live (in ´iddat) in the same style as ye live, according to your means: Annoy them not, so as to restrict them.(5516) And if they carry (life in their wombs), then(5517) spend (your substance) on them until they deliver their burden: and if they suckle your (offspring), give them their recompense: and take mutual counsel together, according to what is just and reasonable. And if ye find yourselves(5518) in difficulties, let another woman suckle (the child) on the (father´s) behalf.(5519)*

Yusuf Ali (English) Allah is He Who created seven Firmaments(5526) and of the earth a similar number.(5527) Through the midst of them (all) descends(5528) His Command: that ye may know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah comprehends, all things in (His) Knowledge.*
