Yusuf Ali (English) If it had been Our will, We should have elevated him with Our signs; but he inclined to the earth, and followed his own vain desires.(1150) His similitude is that of a dog: if you attack him, he lolls out his tongue,(1151) or if you leave him alone, he (still) lolls out his tongue. That is the similitude of those who reject Our signs; So relate the story; perchance they may reflect.*

Yusuf Ali (English) And keep thy soul content with those who call on their Lord morning and evening, seeking(2369) His Face; and let not thine eyes pass beyond them, seeking the pomp and glitter of this Life; no obey any whose heart We have permitted to neglect the remembrance of Us, one who follows his own desires, whose case has gone beyond all bounds.(2370)*

Yusuf Ali (English) But if they hearken not(3383) to thee, know that they only follow their own lusts: and who is more astray than one who follow his own lusts, devoid of guidance from Allah. for Allah guides not people given to wrong-doing.*
6 Al-Jathiyah Verse 23 (45:23:5) هَوٰيهُ هويه hevâhu his desire ه و ي
Yusuf Ali (English) Then seest thou such(4761) a one as takes as his god his own vain desire? Allah has, knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed(4762) his hearing and his heart (and understanding), and put a cover on his sight. Who, then, will guide him after Allah (has withdrawn Guidance)? Will ye not then receive admonition?*
