Yusuf Ali (English) We have sent down to thee Manifest Signs (ayat); and none reject them but those who are perverse.

But they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah.s permission. And they learned what harmed them, not what profited them. And they knew that the buyers of (magic) would have no share in the happiness of the Hereafter. And vile was the price for which they did sell their souls, if they but knew!*
5 Al-Baqarah Verse 130 (2:130:10) وَلَقَدِ ولقد ve lekadi And indeed قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) And who turns away from the religion of Abraham but such as debase their souls with folly? Him We chose(130) and rendered pure in this world: And he will be in the Hereafter in the ranks of the Righteous.*

9 Ali 'Imran Verse 164 (3:164:1) لَقَدْ لقد lekad Certainly قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) Allah did confer a great favour on the believers(473) when He sent among them a messenger from among themselves, rehearsing unto them the Signs of Allah, sanctifying them, and instructing them in Scripture and Wisdom, while, before that, they had been in manifest error.*

And Allah said: "I am with you: if ye (but) establish regular prayers, practise regular charity, believe in my messengers, honour and assist them, and loan to Allah a beautiful loan,(710) verily I will wipe out from you your evils, and admit you to gardens with rivers flowing beneath; but if any of you, after this, resisteth faith, he hath truly wandered from the path or rectitude."(711)*
13 Al-Ma'idah Verse 17 (5:17:1) لَقَدْ لقد lekad Certainly قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) In blasphemy indeed are those that say that Allah is Christ the son of Mary. Say: "Who then hath the least power against Allah, if His will were to destroy Christ the son of Mary, his mother, and all every - one that is on the earth? For to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between. He createth(717) what He pleaseth. For Allah hath power over all things."*
14 Al-Ma'idah Verse 28 (5:28:1) لَئِنْ لئن le-in If إِنْ
Yusuf Ali (English) "If thou dost stretch thy hand against me, to slay me, it is not for me to stretch my hand against thee to slay thee: for I do fear Allah, the Cherisher of the Worlds.
15 Al-Ma'idah Verse 32 (5:32:28) وَلَقَدْ ولقد ve lekad And surely قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) On that account: We ordained for the Children of Israel that if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people:(737) and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people. Then although there came to them Our messengers with clear signs, yet, even after that, many of them continued to commit excesses in the land.*
16 Al-Ma'idah Verse 64 (5:64:17) وَلَيَز۪يدَنَّ وليزيدن ve leyezîdenne And surely increase ز ي د
Yusuf Ali (English) The Jews say: "(Allah)´s hand(772) is tied up." Be their hands tied up and be they accursed for the (blasphemy) they utter. Nay, both His hands are widely outstretched: He giveth and spendeth (of His bounty) as He pleaseth. But the revelation that cometh to thee from Allah increaseth in most of them their obstinate rebellion(773) and blasphemy. Amongst them we have placed enmity(774) and hatred till the Day of Judgment. Every time they kindle the fire of war, Allah doth extinguish it; but they (ever) strive to do mischief(775) on earth. And Allah loveth not those who do mischief.*
17 Al-Ma'idah Verse 70 (5:70:1) لَقَدْ لقد lekad Certainly قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) We took the covenant of the Children of Israel and sent them messengers, every time, there came to them a messenger with what they themselves desired not - some (of these) they called impostors, and some they (go so far as to) slay.(780)*
18 Al-Ma'idah Verse 72 (5:72:1) لَقَدْ لقد lekad Certainly قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) They do blaspheme who say: "(Allah) is Christ the son of Mary." But said Christ:(782) "O Children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Whoever joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help.*
19 Al-An'am Verse 23 (6:23:8) وَاللّٰهِ والله va(A)llâhi By Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) There will then be (left) no subterfuge for them(851) but to say: "By Allah our Lord, we were not those who joined gods with Allah."*
20 Al-An'am Verse 34 (6:34:1) وَلَقَدْ ولقد ve lekad And surely قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) Rejected were the messengers before thee: with patience and constancy they bore their rejection and their wrongs, until Our aid did reach them: there is none that can alter the words (and decrees) of Allah. Already hast thou received some account of those messengers.
21 Al-An'am Verse 34 (6:34:18) وَلَقَدْ ولقد ve lekad and surely قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) Rejected were the messengers before thee: with patience and constancy they bore their rejection and their wrongs, until Our aid did reach them: there is none that can alter the words (and decrees) of Allah. Already hast thou received some account of those messengers.
22 Al-An'am Verse 94 (6:94:1) وَلَقَدْ ولقد ve lekad And certainly قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) "And behold! ye come to us bare and alone as We created you for the first time:(916) ye have left behind you all (the favours) which We bestowed on you: We see not with you your intercessors whom ye thought to be partners in your affairs: so now all relations between you have been cut off, and your (pet) fancies have left you in the lurch!"(917)*

Yusuf Ali (English) "And behold! ye come to us bare and alone as We created you for the first time:(916) ye have left behind you all (the favours) which We bestowed on you: We see not with you your intercessors whom ye thought to be partners in your affairs: so now all relations between you have been cut off, and your (pet) fancies have left you in the lurch!"(917)*

Yusuf Ali (English) It is We Who created you and gave you shape;(996) then We bade the angels bow down to Adam, and they bowed down; not so Iblis; He refused to be of those(997) who bow down.*

Yusuf Ali (English) ((Allah)) said: "Get out from this, disgraced and expelled. If any of them follow thee,- Hell will I fill with you all.
26 Al-A'raf Verse 59 (7:59:1) لَقَدْ لقد lekad Certainly قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) We sent Noah to his people.(1039) He said: "O my people! worship Allah. ye have no other god but Him. I fear for you the punishment of a dreadful day!*
27 Al-A'raf Verse 93 (7:93:6) لَقَدْ لقد lekad Verily قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) So Shu´aib left them, saying: "O my people! I did indeed convey to you the messages for which I was sent by my Lord: I gave you good counsel, but how shall I lament over a people who refuse to believe!"(1064)*
28 Al-A'raf Verse 101 (7:101:7) وَلَقَدْ ولقد ve lekad And certainly قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) Such were the towns whose story We (thus) relate unto thee: There came indeed to them their messengers with clear (signs): But they would not believe what they had rejected before.(1070) Thus doth Allah seal up the hearts of those who reject faith.*
29 Al-A'raf Verse 105 (7:105:10) قَدْ قد kad Verily قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) One for whom it is right to say nothing but truth about Allah. Now have I come unto you (people), from(1073) your Lord, with a clear (Sign): So let the Children of Israel depart along with me."*
30 Al-A'raf Verse 130 (7:130:1) وَلَقَدْ ولقد ve lekad And certainly قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) We punished the people of Pharaoh with years (of droughts) and shortness of crops; that they might receive admonition.
31 Al-A'raf Verse 179 (7:179:0) وَلَقَدْ ولقد ve lekad And certainly قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) Many are the Jinns and men we have made for Hell: They have hearts wherewith(1153) they understand not, eyes wherewith they see not, and ears wherewith they hear not. They are like cattle,- nay more misguided: for they are heedless (of warning).*
32 At-Tawbah Verse 25 (9:25:0) لَقَدْ لقد lekad Verily قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) Assuredly Allah did help you in many battle-fields and on the day of Hunayn:(1274) Behold! your great numbers elated you, but they availed you naught: the land, for all that it is wide, did constrain you, and ye turned back in retreat.(1275)*
33 At-Tawbah Verse 48 (9:48:0) لَقَدِ لقد lekadi Verily قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) Indeed they had plotted sedition before, and upset matters for thee, until,- the Truth arrived, and the Decree of Allah became manifest much to their disgust.(1311)*
34 At-Tawbah Verse 66 (9:66:0) قَدْ قد kad verily قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) Make ye no excuses: ye have rejected Faith after ye had accepted it. If We pardon some of you, We will punish others amongst you, for that they are in sin.(1323)*
35 At-Tawbah Verse 117 (9:117:0) لَقَدْ لقد lekad Verily قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) Allah turned with favour to the Prophet, the Muhajirs,(1368) and the Ansar,- who followed him in a time of distress, after that the hearts of a part (1369)of them had nearly swerved (from duty); but He turned to them (also): for He is unto them Most Kind, Most Merciful.*
36 At-Tawbah Verse 128 (9:128:0) لَقَدْ لقد lekad Certainly قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) Now hath come unto you a Messenger from amongst yourselves: it grieves him that ye should perish: ardently anxious is he over you: to the Believers is he most kind and merciful.(1379)*

Yusuf Ali (English) Generations before you We destroyed when they did wrong: their messengers came to them with clearsigns, but they would not believe! thus do We requite those who sin!

Yusuf Ali (English) We settled the Children of Israel in a beautiful(1474) dwelling-place, and provided for them sustenance of the best: it was after knowledge had been granted to them, that they fell into schisms. Verily Allah will judge between them as to the schisms amongst them, on the Day of Judgment.*

Yusuf Ali (English) If thou wert in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee:(1475) the Truth hath indeed come to thee from thy Lord: so be in no wise of those in doubt.(1476)*

Yusuf Ali (English) There came Our messengers to Abraham with glad tidings. They said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" and hastened to entertain them with a roasted calf.(1565)*

Yusuf Ali (English) Verily in Joseph and his brethren are signs (or symbols) for seekers (after Truth).(1638)*

Yusuf Ali (English) They said: "If the wolf were to devour him while we are (so large) a party, then should we indeed (first) have perished ourselves!"(1645)*

Yusuf Ali (English) So they did take him away, and they all agreed to throw him down to the bottom of the well: and We put into his heart(1646) (this Message): ´Of a surety thou shalt (one day) tell them the truth of this their affair while they know (thee) not.´(1647)*

Yusuf Ali (English) And (with passion) did she desire him, and he would have desired her, but that he saw the evidence(1668) of his Lord: thus (did We order) that We(1669) might turn away from him (all) evil and shameful deeds: for he was one of Our servants, sincere and purified.*
49 Yusuf Verse 32 (12:32:6) وَلَقَدْ ولقد ve lekad And certainly قَدْ
Yusuf Ali (English) She said: "There before you is the man about whom ye did blame me! I did seek to seduce him from his (true) self but he did firmly save himself guiltless!(1680)....and now, if he doth not my bidding, he shall certainly be cast into prison, and (what is more) be of the company of the vilest!"*

Yusuf Ali (English) Mocked were (many) Messengers(1849) before thee: but I granted respite to the unbelievers, and finally I punished them: Then how (terrible) was my requital!(1850)*
