Yusuf Ali (English) Those who believe (in the Qur´an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians(76),- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve(77).*
4 Al-Baqarah Verse 67 (2:67:16) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) And remember Moses said to his people: "(Allah) commands that ye sacrifice a heifer(80)." They said: "Makest thou a laughing-stock of us?" He said: "(Allah) save me from being an ignorant (fool)!"*
5 Al-Baqarah Verse 126 (2:126:16) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) And remember Abraham said: "My Lord, make this a City of Peace(127), and feed its people with fruits(128),-such of them as believe in Allah and the Last Day." He said: "(Yea), and such as reject Faith,- for a while will I grant them their pleasure, but will soon drive them to the torment of Fire,- an evil destination (indeed)!"*
6 Al-Baqarah Verse 136 (2:136:3) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) Say ye: "We believe in Allah, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Isma´il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) prophets from their Lord: We make no difference between one and another of them: And we bow to Allah (in Islam)(135)."*
7 Al-Baqarah Verse 177 (2:177:13) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness(177)- to believe in Allah(178) and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance(179), out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer(180), and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient(181), in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the Allah.fearing.*
8 Al-Baqarah Verse 228 (2:228:19) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) Divorced women shall wait concerning themselves for three monthly periods. Nor is it lawful for them to hide what Allah Hath created in their wombs, if they have faith in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands have the better right to take them back in that period, if they wish for reconciliation(254). And women shall have rights similar to the rights against them, according to what is equitable; but men have a degree (of advantage) over them(255). And Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise.*
9 Al-Baqarah Verse 232 (2:232:22) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) When ye divorce women, and they fulfil the term of their (´Iddat), do not prevent them(265) from marrying persons of their choice, if they mutually agree on equitable terms. This instruction is for all amongst you, who believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is (the course Making for) most virtue and purity amongst you and Allah knows, and ye know not.*
10 Al-Baqarah Verse 256 (2:256:14) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) Let there be no compulsion(300) in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks(301). And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.*
11 Al-Baqarah Verse 264 (2:264:17) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) O ye who believe! cancel not your charity by reminders of your generosity or by injury,- like those who spend their substance to be seen of men, but believe neither in Allah nor in the Last Day(310). They are in parable like a hard, barren rock, on which is a little soil: on it falls heavy rain, which leaves it (Just) a bare stone. They will be able to do nothing with aught they have earned. And Allah guideth not those who reject faith.*
12 Al-Baqarah Verse 285 (2:285:11) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) The Messenger believeth in what hath been revealed to him from his Lord, as do the men of faith. Each one (of them) believeth in Allah, His angels, His books, and His Messengers(337). "We make no distinction (they say) between one and another(338) of His messengers." And they say: "We hear, and we obey: (We seek) Thy forgiveness(339), our Lord, and to Thee is the end of all journeys."*
13 Ali 'Imran Verse 52 (3:52:17) بِاللّٰهِۚ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) When Jesus found Unbelief on their part He said: "Who will be My helpers to (the work of) Allah." Said the disciples: "We are Allah.s helpers: We believe in Allah, and do thou bear witness that we are Muslims(392).*
14 Ali 'Imran Verse 84 (3:84:3) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) Say: "We believe in Allah, and in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Isma´il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and in (the Books) given to Moses, Jesus, and the prophets, from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another among them, and to Allah do we bow our will (in Islam)."
15 Ali 'Imran Verse 101 (3:101:12) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi to Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) And how would ye deny Faith while unto you are rehearsed the Signs of Allah, and among you Lives the Messenger. Whoever holds firmly to Allah will be shown a way that is straight.
16 Ali 'Imran Verse 114 (3:114:2) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) They believe in Allah and the Last Day; they enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong; and they hasten (in emulation) in (all) good works: They are in the ranks of the righteous.
17 Ali 'Imran Verse 151 (3:151:9) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi with Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority: their abode will be the Fire: And evil is the home of the wrongdoers!
18 Ali 'Imran Verse 154 (3:154:17) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi about Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) After (the excitement) of the distress, He sent down calm on a band of you overcome with slumber,(465) while another band was stirred to anxiety by their own feelings, Moved by wrong suspicions of Allah.suspicions due to ignorance. They said: "What affair is this of ours?"(466) Say thou: "Indeed, this affair is wholly Allah.s." They hide in their minds what they dare not reveal to thee. They say (to themselves): "If we had had anything to do with this affair, We should not have been in the slaughter here." Say: "Even if you had remained in your homes, those for whom death was decreed would certainly have gone forth to the place of their death"; but (all this was)(467) that Allah might test what is in your breasts and purge what is in your hearts. For Allah knoweth well the secrets of your hearts.*
19 Ali 'Imran Verse 179 (3:179:29) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) Allah will not leave the believers in the state in which ye are now, until He separates what is evil from what is good(481) nor will He disclose to you the secrets of the Unseen(482). But He chooses of His Messenger. (For the purpose) whom He pleases. So believe in Allah. And His messengers: And if ye believe and do right, ye have a reward without measure.*
20 Ali 'Imran Verse 199 (3:199:7) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) And there are, certainly, among the People of the Book, those who believe in Allah, in the revelation to you, and in the revelation to them, bowing in humility to Allah. They will not sell the Signs of Allah for a miserable gain! For them is a reward with their Lord, and Allah is swift in account.
21 An-Nisa Verse 6 (4:6:36) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) Make trial of orphans until they reach the age(512) of marriage; if then ye find sound judgment in them, release their property to them; but consume it not wastefully, nor in haste against their growing up. If the guardian is well-off, Let him claim no remuneration, but if he is poor, let him have for himself what is just and reasonable. When ye release their property to them, take witnesses in their presence: But all-sufficient is Allah in taking account.(513)*
22 An-Nisa Verse 38 (4:38:8) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) Not those who spend of their substance, to be seen(557) of men, but have no faith in Allah and the Last Day: If any take the Evil One for their intimate, what a dreadful intimate he is!*
23 An-Nisa Verse 39 (4:39:5) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) And what burden Were it on them if they had faith in Allah and in the Last Day, and they spent out of what Allah hath given them for sustenance?(558) For Allah hath full knowledge of them.*
24 An-Nisa Verse 45 (4:45:5) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) But Allah hath full knowledge of your enemies: Allah is enough for a protector, and Allah is enough for a Helper.
25 An-Nisa Verse 45 (4:45:8) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi (is) Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) But Allah hath full knowledge of your enemies: Allah is enough for a protector, and Allah is enough for a Helper.
26 An-Nisa Verse 48 (4:48:16) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi with Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) Allah forgiveth not that partners should be set up with Him; but He forgiveth anything else, to whom He pleaseth; to set up partners with Allah is to devise a sin(569) Most heinous indeed.*
27 An-Nisa Verse 59 (4:59:23) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you.(580) If ye differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if ye do believe in Allah and the Last Day: That is best, and most suitable for final determination.*
28 An-Nisa Verse 62 (4:62:11) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi by Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) How then, when they are seized by misfortune, because of the deeds which they hands have sent forth? Then their come to thee, swearing by Allah. "We meant no more than good-will and conciliation!"
29 An-Nisa Verse 70 (4:70:6) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) Such is the bounty from Allah. And sufficient is it that Allah knoweth all.(587)*
30 An-Nisa Verse 79 (4:79:17) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) Whatever good, (O man!) happens to thee, is from Allah. but whatever evil happens to thee, is from thy (own) soul. and We have sent thee as a Messenger(598) to (instruct) mankind. And enough is Allah for a witness.*
31 An-Nisa Verse 81 (4:81:23) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi is Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) They have "Obedience" on their lips; but when they leave thee, a section of them Meditate all night on things very different from what thou tellest them. But Allah records their nightly (plots): So keep clear of them, and put thy trust in Allah, and enough is Allah as a disposer of affairs.(600)*
32 An-Nisa Verse 116 (4:116:16) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi with Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) Allah forgiveth not (The sin of) joining other gods(626) with Him; but He forgiveth whom He pleaseth other sins than this: one who joins other gods with Allah, Hath strayed far, far away (from the right).*
33 An-Nisa Verse 132 (4:132:9) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) Yea, unto Allah belong all things in the heavens and on earth, and enough is Allah to carry through(642) all affairs.*

Yusuf Ali (English) O ye who believe! Believe in Allah and His Messenger, and the scripture which He hath sent to His Messenger and the scripture which He sent to those before (him).(646) Any who denieth Allah, His angels, His Books, His Messenger., and the Day of Judgment, hath gone far, far astray.*
35 An-Nisa Verse 136 (4:136:20) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) O ye who believe! Believe in Allah and His Messenger, and the scripture which He hath sent to His Messenger and the scripture which He sent to those before (him).(646) Any who denieth Allah, His angels, His Books, His Messenger., and the Day of Judgment, hath gone far, far astray.*
36 An-Nisa Verse 146 (4:146:6) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi to Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) Except for those who repent, mend (their lives) hold fast to Allah, and purify their religion as in Allah.s sight: if so they will be (numbered)(652) with the believers. And soon will Allah grant to the believers a reward of immense value.*
37 An-Nisa Verse 150 (4:150:4) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) Those who deny Allah and His messengers, and (those who) wish to separate Allah from His messengers, saying: "We believe in some but reject others": And (those who) wish to take a course midway,-(656)*
38 An-Nisa Verse 152 (4:152:3) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) To those who believe in Allah and His messengers and make no distinction between any of the messengers, we shall soon give their (due) rewards: for Allah is Oft- forgiving, Most Merciful.
39 An-Nisa Verse 162 (4:162:20) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) But those among them who are well-grounded in knowledge, and the believers, believe in what hath been revealed to thee and what was revealed before thee: And (especially) those who establish regular prayer and practise regular charity and believe in Allah and in the Last Day: To them shall We soon give a great reward.
40 An-Nisa Verse 166 (4:166:12) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) But Allah beareth witness that what He hath sent unto thee He hath sent from His (own) knowledge,(672) and the angels bear witness: But enough is Allah for a witness.*
41 An-Nisa Verse 171 (4:171:28) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) O People of the Book! Commit no excesses(675) in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a messenger of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His messengers. Say not "Trinity" : desist:(676) it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah. Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.*
42 An-Nisa Verse 171 (4:171:53) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) O People of the Book! Commit no excesses(675) in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Yusuf Ali (English) Then those who believe in Allah, and hold fast to Him,- soon will He admit them to mercy and grace from Himself,(680) and guide them to Himself by a straight way.*
44 Al-Ma'idah Verse 53 (5:53:7) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi by Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) And those who believe will say: "Are these the men who swore their strongest oaths by Allah, that they were with you?(766)" All that they do will be in vain, and they will fall into (nothing but) ruin.*
45 Al-Ma'idah Verse 59 (5:59:11) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) Say: "O people of the Book! Do ye disapprove of us for no other reason than that we believe in Allah, and the revelation that hath come to us and that which came before (us), and (perhaps) that most of you are rebellious and disobedient?(769)"*
46 Al-Ma'idah Verse 69 (5:69:10) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) Those who believe (in the Qur´an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians and the Christians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness-(779) on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.*
47 Al-Ma'idah Verse 72 (5:72:23) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi with Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) They do blaspheme who say: "(Allah) is Christ the son of Mary." But said Christ:(782) "O Children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Whoever joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help.*
48 Al-Ma'idah Verse 81 (5:81:4) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) If only they had believed in Allah, in the Messenger, and in what hath been revealed to him, never would they have taken them for friends and protectors, but most of them are rebellious wrong-doers.
49 Al-Ma'idah Verse 84 (5:84:5) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi in Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) "What cause can we have not to believe in Allah and the truth which has come to us, seeing that we long for our Lord to admit us to the company of the righteous?"
50 Al-Ma'idah Verse 106 (5:106:34) بِاللّٰهِ بالله bi(A)llâhi by Allah اللَّهُ
Yusuf Ali (English) O ye who believe! When death approaches any of you, (take) witnesses among yourselves when making bequests,- two just men of your own (brotherhood) or others from outside if ye are journeying through the earth, and the chance of death befalls you (thus). If ye doubt (their truth), detain them both after prayer, and let them both swear by Allah. "We wish not in this for any worldly gain, even though the (beneficiary) be our near relation: we shall hide not the evidence before Allah. if we do, then behold! the sin be upon us!(812)"*
