But neither of these taught anyone (Such things) without saying: "We are only for trial; so do not blaspheme." They learned from them(105) the means to sow discord between man and wife. But they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah.s permission. And they learned what harmed them, not what profited them. And they knew that the buyers of (magic) would have no share in the happiness of the Hereafter. And vile was the price for which they did sell their souls, if they but knew!*
3 Al-Baqarah Verse 239 (2:239:15) تَعْلَمُونَ تعلمون ta’lemûn(e) knowing ع ل م
Yusuf Ali (English) If ye fear (an enemy)(272), pray on foot, or riding, (as may be most convenient), but when ye are in security, celebrate Allah's praises in the manner He has taught you, which ye knew not (before).*

Yusuf Ali (English) Or (take) the similitude of one who passed by a hamlet, all in ruins(304) to its roofs. He said: "Oh! how shall Allah bring it (ever) to life, after (this) its death?" but Allah caused him to die for a hundred years, then raised him up (again). He said: "How long didst thou tarry (thus)?" He said: (Perhaps) a day or part of a day." He said: "Nay, thou hast tarried thus a hundred years; but look at thy food and thy drink; they show no signs of age; and look at thy donkey: And that We may make of thee a sign unto the people, Look further at the bones, how We bring them together and clothe them with flesh(305)." When this was shown clearly to him, he said: "I know that Allah hath power over all things."*
5 An-Nisa Verse 39 (4:39:15) عَل۪يمًا عليما ‘alîmâ(n) All-Knower ع ل م
Yusuf Ali (English) And what burden Were it on them if they had faith in Allah and in the Last Day, and they spent out of what Allah hath given them for sustenance?(558) For Allah hath full knowledge of them.*

Yusuf Ali (English) But for the Grace of Allah to thee and his Mercy, a party of them would certainly have plotted to lead thee astray. But (in fact) they will only Lead their own souls astray, and to thee they can do no harm in the least. For Allah hath sent down to thee the Book and wisdom and taught thee what thou Knewest not (before): And great is the Grace of Allah unto thee.

Say: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord (alone): None but He can reveal as to when it will occur.(1159) Heavy were its burden through the heavens and the earth. Only, all of a sudden will it come to you." They ask thee as if thou Wert eager in search thereof:(1160) Say: "The knowledge thereof is with Allah (alone), but most men know not."*

Yusuf Ali (English) Go ye forth, (whether equipped)(1306) lightly or heavily, and strive and struggle, with your goods and your persons, in the cause of Allah. That is best for you, if ye (but) knew.*
13 At-Tawbah Verse 42 (9:42:0) يَعْلَمُ يعلم ya’lemu knows ع ل م
Yusuf Ali (English) If there had been immediate gain (in sight), and the journey easy, they would (all) without doubt have followed thee, but the distance was long, (and weighed) on them. They would indeed swear by Allah, "If we only could, we should certainly have come out with you": They would destroy their own souls;(1307) for Allah doth know that they are certainly lying.*
14 Hud Verse 49 (11:49:9) تَعْلَمُهَٓا تعلمها ta’lemuhâ knowing it ع ل م
Yusuf Ali (English) Such are some of the stories of the unseen, which We have revealed unto thee: before this, neither thou nor thy people knew them. So persevere patiently: for the End is for those who are righteous.(1544)*

And Allah is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful.(3748)*
36 Fatir Verse 8 (35:8:23) عَل۪يمٌ عليم ‘alîmun (is) All-Knower ع ل م
Yusuf Ali (English) Is he, then, to whom the evil of his conduct is made alluring, so that he looks upon it(3880) as good, (equal to one who is rightly guided)? For Allah leaves to stray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. So let not thy soul go out in (vainly) sighing after them: for Allah knows well all that they do!*

But Allah doth appoint night and day in due measure He knoweth that ye are unable to keep count thereof.(5772) So He hath turned to you (in mercy): read ye, therefore, of the Qur´an(5773) as much as may be easy for you. He knoweth that there may be (some) among you in ill-health; others travelling through the land, seeking of Allah's bounty; yet others fighting(5774) in Allah's Cause, read ye, therefore, as much of the Qur´an as may be easy (for you); and establish regular Prayer and give regular Charity; and loan to Allah a Beautiful Loan.(5775) And whatever good ye send forth for your souls,(5776) ye shall find it in Allah's Presence,- yea, better and greater, in Reward and seek ye the Grace of Allah: for Allah is(5777) Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.*
