Yusuf Ali (English) They ask thee concerning fighting in the Prohibited Month(237). Say: "Fighting therein is a grave (offence); but graver is it in the sight of Allah to prevent access to the path of Allah, to deny Him, to prevent access to the Sacred Mosque, and drive out its members(238)." Tumult and oppression(239) are worse than slaughter. Nor will they cease fighting you until they turn you back from your faith if they can. And if any of you Turn back from their faith and die in unbelief, their works will bear no fruit in this life and in the Hereafter; they will be companions of the Fire and will abide therein.*

Yusuf Ali (English) It is the wish of a section of the People of the Book to lead you astray. But they shall lead astray (Not you), but themselves, and they do not perceive!

Yusuf Ali (English) If any of you have not the means wherewith to wed free believing women, they may wed believing girls from among those whom your right hands possess:(540) And Allah hath full knowledge about your faith. Ye are one from another: Wed them with the leave of their owners, and give them their dowers, according to what is reasonable: They should be chaste, not lustful, nor taking paramours: when they are taken in wedlock, if they fall into shame, their punishment is half that for free women. This (permission) is for those among you who fear sin; but it is better for you that ye practise self-restraint. And Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.*

Yusuf Ali (English) If ye fear a breach between them twain, appoint (two) arbiters, one from his family, and the other from hers;(549) if they wish for peace, Allah will cause their reconciliation: For Allah hath full knowledge, and is acquainted with all things.*

Yusuf Ali (English) To those who inherit the earth in succession to its (previous) possessors, is it not a guiding, (lesson) that, if We so willed, We could punish them (too) for their sins, and seal up their hearts so that they could not hear?(1069)*

Yusuf Ali (English) Remember ye were on the hither side of the valley, and they on the farther side, and the caravan(1212) on lower ground than ye. Even if ye had made a mutual appointment to meet, ye would certainly have failed in the appointment:(1213) But (thus ye met), that Allah might accomplish a matter already enacted; that those who died might die after a clear Sign (had been given), and those who lived might live after a Clear Sign (had been given). And verily Allah is He Who heareth and knoweth (all things).*
21 At-Tawbah Verse 101 (9:101:0) اَهْلِ اهل ehli people أ ه ل
Yusuf Ali (English) Certain of the desert Arabs round about you are hypocrites, as well as (desert Arabs) among the Medina folk(1350): they are obstinate in hypocrisy: thou knowest them not: We know them: twice shall We punish them(1351): and in addition shall they be sent to a grievous penalty.*

Yusuf Ali (English) It was not fitting for the people of Medina and the Bedouin Arabs of the neighbourhood, to refuse to follow Allah.s Messenger, nor to prefer their own lives to his: because nothing could they suffer or do, but was reckoned to their credit as a deed of righteousness,- whether they suffered thirst, or fatigue, or hunger, in the cause of Allah, or trod paths to raise the ire of the Unbelievers, or received any injury(1371) whatever from an enemy: for Allah suffereth not the reward to be lost of those who do good;-*

Yusuf Ali (English) And Noah called upon his Lord, and said: "O my Lord! surely my son is of my family! and Thy promise is true, and Thou art the justest of Judges!"
24 Hud Verse 46 (11:46:7) اَهْلِكَۚ اهلك ehlik(e) your family أ ه ل
Yusuf Ali (English) He said: "O Noah! He is not of thy family:(1540) For his conduct is unrighteous. So ask not of Me that of which thou hast no knowledge! I give thee counsel, lest thou act like the ignorant!"*

Yusuf Ali (English) (The Messengers) said: "O Lut! We are Messengers from thy Lord! By no means shall they reach thee! now travel with thy family while yet a part of the night remains, and let not any of you look back: but thy wife(1577) (will remain behind): To her will happen what happens to the people. Morning is their time appointed: Is not the morning nigh?"*

Yusuf Ali (English) So they both raced each other to the door, and she tore his shirt from the back:(1670) they both found her lord near the door. She said: "What is the (fitting) punishment for one who formed an evil design against thy wife, but prison or a grievous chastisement?"(1671)*

Yusuf Ali (English) He said: "It was she that sought to seduce me - (1672) from my (true) self." And one of her household saw (this) and bore witness, (thus):-(1673) "If it be that his shirt is rent from the front, then is her tale true, and he is a liar!*

Yusuf Ali (English) And he entered the city at a time when its people(3341) were not watching: and he found there two men fighting,- one of his own religion, and the other, of his foes. Now the man of his own religion appealed to him against his foe, and Moses struck(3342) him with his fist and made an end of him. He said: "This is a work of Evil (Satan): for he is an enemy that manifestly misleads!"*

Yusuf Ali (English) Now when Moses had fulfilled the term, and was travelling(3359) with his family, he perceived a fire in the direction of Mount Tur. He said to his family: "Tarry ye; I perceive a fire; I hope to bring you from there some information, or a burning firebrand, that ye may warm yourselves."(3360)*
