251 Al-Ahzab Verse 19 (33:19:8) اِلَيْكَ اليك ileyke at you إِلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) Covetous over you.(3689) Then when fear comes, thou wilt see them looking to thee, their eyes revolving, like (those of) one over whom hovers death: but when the fear is past, they will smite you with sharp tongues, covetous(3690) of goods. Such men have no faith, and so Allah has made their deeds(3691) of none effect: and that is easy for Allah.(3692)*
252 Al-Ahzab Verse 37 (33:37:31) زَوَّجْنَاكَهَا زوجناكها zevvecnâkehâ We married her to you ز و ج
Yusuf Ali (English) Behold! Thou didst say to one who had received the grace of Allah(3722) and thy favour: "Retain thou (in wedlock) thy wife, and fear Allah." But thou didst hide in thy heart(3723) that which Allah was about to make manifest: thou didst fear the people, but it is more fitting that thou shouldst(3724) fear Allah. Then when Zaid had dissolved (his marriage) with her, with the necessary(3725) (formality), We joined her in marriage to thee: in order that (in future) there may be no difficulty to the Believers in (the matter of) marriage with the wives(3726) of their adopted sons, when the latter have dissolved with the necessary (formality) (their marriage) with them. And Allah's command must be fulfilled.*
253 Al-Ahzab Verse 50 (33:50:6) لَكَ لك leke (for, to, in) you لَكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) O Prophet! We have made lawful to thee(3741) thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers;(3742) and those whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom(3743) Allah has assigned to thee; and daughters of thy paternal uncles and aunts, and daughters of thy maternal uncles and aunts, who migrated(3744) (from Makka) with thee; and any believing woman who dedicates her soul to the Prophet(3745) if the Prophet wishes to wed her;- this only for thee, and not for the Believers (at large); We know what We have appointed for them as to(3746) their wives and the captives whom their right hands possess- in order that(3747) there should be no difficulty for thee. And Allah is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful.(3748)*

Yusuf Ali (English) It is not lawful for thee (to marry more) women(3754) after this, nor to change them for (other) wives, even though their beauty attract thee, except any thy right hand should possess (as handmaidens): and Allah doth watch over all things.*
258 Al-Ahzab Verse 63 (33:63:1) يَسْـَٔلُكَ يسـلك yes-eluke Ask you س أ ل
Yusuf Ali (English) Men ask thee concerning the Hour: Say, "The knowledge(3771) thereof is with Allah (alone)": and what will make thee understand?- perchance the Hour is nigh!*
259 Saba Verse 6 (34:6:7) اِلَيْكَ اليك ileyke to you إِلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) And those to whom(3793) knowledge has come see that the (Revelation) sent down to thee from thy Lord - that is the Truth, and that it guides to the Path of the Exalted (in might), Worthy of all praise.*
260 Fatir Verse 14 (35:14:16) يُنَبِّئُكَ ينبئك yunebbiuke can inform you ن ب أ
Yusuf Ali (English) If ye invoke them, they will not listen to your call, and if(3895) they were to listen, they cannot answer your (prayer). On the Day of Judgment they will reject(3896) your "Partnership". and none, (O man!) can tell thee(3897) (the Truth) like the One Who is acquainted with all things.*
261 Fatir Verse 31 (35:31:3) اِلَيْكَ اليك ileyke to you إِلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) That which We have revealed to thee of the Book is the Truth,- confirming what was (revealed) before it: for Allah is assuredly- with respect to His Servants - well acquainted and(3918) Fully Observant.*
262 As-Saffat Verse 102 (37:102:22) تُؤْمَرُۘ تؤمر tu/mer(u) you are commanded أ م ر
Yusuf Ali (English) Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision(4098) that I offer thee in sacrifice:(4099) Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!"*
263 Sad Verse 21 (38:21:2) اَتٰيكَ اتيك etâke come to you أ ت ي
Yusuf Ali (English) Has the Story of the Disputants reached thee?(4171) Behold, they climbed over the wall of the private chamber;*
264 Sad Verse 24 (38:24:3) ظَلَمَكَ ظلمك zalemeke he has wronged you ظ ل م
Yusuf Ali (English) (David) said: "He has undoubtedly wronged thee(4174) in demanding thy (single) ewe to be added to his (flock of) ewes: truly many are the partners (in business)(4175) who wrong each other: Not so do those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and how few are they?"...and David gathered that We had tried him: he asked forgiveness of his Lord,(4176) fell down, bowing (in prostration), and turned (to Allah in repentance).(4176-A)*
265 Sad Verse 29 (38:29:3) اِلَيْكَ اليك ileyke to you إِلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) (Here is) a Book which We have sent down unto thee, full of blessings,(4181) that they may mediate on its Signs, and that men of understanding may receive admonition.*
266 Sad Verse 85 (38:85:5) تَبِعَكَ تبعك tebi’ake follow you ت ب ع
Yusuf Ali (English) "That I will certainly fill(4237) Hell with thee and those that follow thee,- every one."*
267 Az-Zumar Verse 2 (39:2:3) اِلَيْكَ اليك ileyke to you إِلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) Verily it is We Who have revealed the Book to thee in Truth: so serve Allah, offering Him sincere devotion.
268 Az-Zumar Verse 8 (39:8:3) الْاِنْسَانَ الانسان l-insâne [the] man أ ن س
Yusuf Ali (English) When some trouble toucheth man,(4256) he crieth unto his Lord, turning to Him in repentance: but when He bestoweth a favour upon him as from Himself, (man) doth forget what he cried and prayed for before, and he doth set up rivals unto Allah, thus misleading others from Allah.s Path. Say, "Enjoy thy blasphemy(4257) for a little while: verily thou art (one) of the Companions of the Fire!"*
269 Az-Zumar Verse 41 (39:41:3) عَلَيْكَ عليك ‘aleyke to you عَلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) Verily We have revealed the Book to thee in Truth, for (instructing) Mankind.(4304) He, then, that receives guidance benefits his own soul: but he that strays injures his own soul. Nor art thou set(4305) over them to dispose of their affairs.*
270 Az-Zumar Verse 49 (39:49:3) الْاِنْسَانَ الانسان l-insâne [the] man أ ن س
Yusuf Ali (English) Now, when trouble touches man, he cries to Us:(4318) But when We bestow a favour upon him(4319) as from Ourselves, he says, "This has been given to me because of a certain knowledge (I have)!"(4320) Nay, but this is but a trial, but most of them understand not!*
271 Az-Zumar Verse 59 (39:59:3) جَٓاءَتْكَ جاءتك câetke came to you ج ي أ
Yusuf Ali (English) "(The reply will be:) ´Nay,(4330) but there came to thee my Signs, and thou didst reject them: thou wast Haughty, and became one of those who reject faith!´"(4331)*
272 Az-Zumar Verse 65 (39:65:3) اِلَيْكَ اليك ileyke to you إِلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) But it has already been revealed to thee,-(4338) as it was to those before thee,- "If thou wert to join (gods with Allah., truly fruitless(4339) will be thy work (in life), and thou wilt surely be in the ranks of those who lose (all spiritual good)".*
273 Ghafir Verse 77 (40:77:7) نُرِيَنَّكَ نرينك nuriyenneke We show you ر أ ي
Yusuf Ali (English) So persevere in patience; for the Promise of Allah is true: and whether(4453) We show thee (in this life) some part of what We promise them,- or We take thy soul (to Our Mercy) (before that),-(in any case) it is to Us that they shall (all) return.*
274 Ghafir Verse 78 (40:78:9) عَلَيْكَ عليك ‘aleyke to you عَلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) We did aforetime send messengers before thee: of them(4454) there are some whose story We have related to thee, and some whose story We have not related to thee. It was not (possible) for any messenger to bring a sign except by the leave of Allah. but when the Command(4455) of Allah issued, the matter was decided in truth and justice, and there perished, there and then those who stood on Falsehoods.*
275 Ghafir Verse 78 (40:78:14) عَلَيْكَۜ عليك ‘aleyk(e) to you عَلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) We did aforetime send messengers before thee: of them(4454) there are some whose story We have related to thee, and some whose story We have not related to thee. Yusuf Ali (English) Nothing is said to thee that was not said to the messengers before thee:(4515) that thy lord has at his Command (all) forgiveness as well as a most Grievous Penalty.*
277 Fussilat Verse 47 (41:47:24) اٰذَنَّاكَۙ اذناك âżennâke We announce (to) You أ ذ ن
Yusuf Ali (English) To Him is referred(4519) the Knowledge of the Hour (of Judgment: He knows all): No date-fruit comes out of its sheath, nor does a female conceive (within her womb) nor bring forth the Day that (Allah) will propound to them the (question),(4520) "Where are the partners (ye attributed to Me?" They will say, "We do assure thee not one of us can bear witness!"*
278 Fussilat Verse 51 (41:51:4) الْاِنْسَانِ الانسان l-insâni man أ ن س
Yusuf Ali (English) When We bestow favours(4523) on man, he turns away, and gets himself remote on his side (instead of(4524) coming to Us); and when evil seizes him, (he comes) full of prolonged prayer!*
279 Ash-Shura Verse 3 (42:3:3) اِلَيْكَ اليك ileyke to you إِلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) Thus doth (He) send inspiration to thee as (He did) to those before thee,-(4528) Allah, Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom.*
280 Ash-Shura Verse 7 (42:7:3) اِلَيْكَ اليك ileyke to you إِلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) Thus have We sent by inspiration to thee an Arabic Qur´an:(4533) that thou mayest warn the Mother of Cities(4534) and all around her,- and warn (them) of the Day of Assembly, of which there is no doubt: (when) some will be(4535) in the Garden, and some in the Blazing Fire.*
281 Ash-Shura Verse 13 (42:13:11) اِلَيْكَ اليك ileyke to you إِلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) The same religion has He established for you as that which He enjoined on Noah -(4541) the which We have sent by inspiration to thee - and that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: Namely, that ye should remain steadfast in religion, and make no divisions therein:(4542) to those who worship other things than Allah, hard is the (way) to which thou callest them.(4543) Allah chooses to Himself those whom He pleases, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him).*
282 Ash-Shura Verse 48 (42:48:8) عَلَيْكَ عليك ‘aleyke (is) on you عَلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) If then they run away, We have not sent thee as a guard over them.(4593) Thy duty is but to convey (the Message). And truly, when We give man a taste of a Mercy(4594) from Ourselves, he doth exult thereat, but when some ill happens to him, on account of the deeds which his hands have sent forth, truly then is man ungrateful!*

Yusuf Ali (English) And thus have We, by Our Command, sent inspiration to thee: thou knewest not (before)(4601) what was Revelation, and what was Faith; but We have made the (Qur´an) a Light, wherewith We guide such of Our servants as We will; and verily thou dost guide (men)(4602) to the Straight Way,-*
285 Az-Zukhruf Verse 42 (43:42:2) نُرِيَنَّكَ نرينك nuriyenneke We show you ر أ ي
Yusuf Ali (English) Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them.
286 Az-Zukhruf Verse 43 (43:43:4) اِلَيْكَۚ اليك ileyk(e) to you إِلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) So hold thou fast(4646) to the Revelation sent down to thee; verily thou art on a Straight Way.*
287 Az-Zukhruf Verse 44 (43:44:3) لَكَ لك leke (for, to, in) you لَكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) The (Qur´an) is indeed the message,(4647) for thee and for thy people; and soon shall ye (all) be brought to account.*
288 Az-Zukhruf Verse 49 (43:49:10) عِنْدَكَ عندك ‘indeke with you ع ن د
Yusuf Ali (English) And they said, "O thou(4652) sorcerer! Invoke thy Lord for us according to His covenant with thee; for we shall truly accept guidance."*
289 Az-Zukhruf Verse 58 (43:58:8) لَكَ لك leke (for, to, in) you لَكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) And they say, "Are our gods best, or he?" This they set forth to thee, only by way of disputation: yea, they are a contentious people.
290 Al-Jathiyah Verse 6 (45:6:5) عَلَيْكَ عليك ‘aleyke to you عَلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) Such are the Signs(4741) of Allah, which We rehearse to thee in Truth; then in what exposition will they believe after (rejecting) Allah and His Signs?*
291 Al-Ahqaf Verse 15 (46:15:2) الْاِنْسَانَ الانسان l-insâne (on) man أ ن س
Yusuf Ali (English) We have enjoined on man(4789) kindness to his parents: In pain did his mother bear him, and in pain did she give him birth. The carrying of the (child) to his weaning is (a period of) thirty months.(4790) At length, when he reaches the age of full strength(4791) and attains forty years, he says, "O my Lord! Grant me that I may be grateful for Thy favour which Thou has bestowed upon me, and upon both my parents, and that I may work righteousness such as Thou mayest approve; and be gracious to me in my issue. Truly have I turned to Thee and truly do I bow (to Thee) in Islam."*
292 Al-Ahqaf Verse 15 (46:15:42) اِلَيْكَ اليك ileyke to You إِلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) We have enjoined on man(4789) kindness to his parents: In pain did his mother bear him, and in pain did she give him birth. The carrying of the (child) to his weaning is (a period of) thirty months.(4790) At length, when he reaches the age of full strength(4791) and attains forty years, he says, "O my Lord! Grant me that I may be grateful for Thy favour which Thou has bestowed upon me, and upon both my parents, and that I may work righteousness such as Thou mayest approve; and be gracious to me in my issue. Truly have I turned to Thee and truly do I bow (to Thee) in Islam."*
293 Al-Ahqaf Verse 17 (46:17:17) وَيْلَكَ ويلك veyleke Woe to you وَيْلٌ
Yusuf Ali (English) But (there is one)(4793) who says to his parents, "Fie on you! Do ye hold out the promise to me that I shall be raised up, even though generations have passed before me (without rising again)?" And they two seek Allah.s aid, (and rebuke the son): "Woe to thee! Have faith! for the promise of Allah is true." But he says, "This is nothing but tales of the ancients!"*
294 Al-Ahqaf Verse 29 (46:29:3) اِلَيْكَ اليك ileyke to you إِلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) Behold, We turned towards thee a company(4809) of Jinns (quietly) listening to the Qur´an: when they stood in the presence thereof, they said, "Listen in silence!" When the (reading) was finished, they returned to their people, to warn (them of their sins).*
295 Muhammad Verse 20 (47:20:20) اِلَيْكَ اليك ileyke at you إِلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) Those who believe say,(4843) "Why is not a sura sent down (for us)?" But when a sura of basic or categorical(4844) meaning is revealed, and fighting is mentioned therein, thou wilt see those in whose hearts is a disease(4845) looking at thee with a look of one in swoon at the approach of death. But more fitting for them-*
296 Muhammad Verse 30 (47:30:3) لَاَرَيْنَاكَهُمْ لاريناكهم le-eraynâkehum surely, We could show them to you ر أ ي
Yusuf Ali (English) Had We so wiled, We could have shown them up to thee, and thou shouldst have known them(4854) by their marks: but surely thou wilt know them by the tone of their speech! And Allah knows all that ye do.*
297 Al-Fath Verse 1 (48:1:3) لَكَ لك leke (for, to, in) you لَكَ
Yusuf Ali (English) Verily We have granted thee a manifest Victory:(4866)*
298 Al-Fath Verse 2 (48:2:12) عَلَيْكَ عليك ‘aleyke upon you عَلَىٰ
Yusuf Ali (English) That Allah may forgive thee(4867) thy faults of the past and those to follow; fulfil His favour to thee; and guide thee on the Straight Way;*
299 Al-Fath Verse 3 (48:3:1) وَيَنْصُرَكَ وينصرك ve yensurake And Allah may help you ن ص ر
