Yusuf Ali (English) And remember We took(87) a covenant from the Children of Israel (to this effect): Worship none but Allah. treat with kindness your parents and kindred, and orphans and those in need; speak fair to the people; be steadfast in prayer; and practise regular charity. Then did ye turn back, except a few among you, and ye backslide (even now).*
7 Al-Baqarah Verse 84 (2:84:14) وَاَنْتُمْ وانتم ve entum while you اَنْتُمْ
Yusuf Ali (English) And remember We took(88) your covenant (to this effect): Shed no blood amongst you, nor turn out your own people from your homes: and this ye solemnly ratified, and to this ye can bear witness.*

Yusuf Ali (English) Permitted to you, on the night of the fasts, is the approach to your wives. They are your garments and ye are their garments(195). Allah knoweth what ye used to do secretly among yourselves; but He turned to you and forgave you; so now associate with them, and seek what Allah Hath ordained for you(196), and eat and drink, until the white thread of dawn appear to you distinct from its black thread(197); then complete your fast Till the night appears(198); but do not associate with your wives while ye are in retreat(199) in the mosques. Those are(200) Limits (set by) Allah. Approach not nigh thereto. Thus doth Allah make clear His Signs to men: that they may learn self-restraint.*
15 Al-Baqarah Verse 188 (2:188:16) وَاَنْتُمْ وانتم ve entum while you اَنْتُمْ
Yusuf Ali (English) And do not eat up your property among yourselves for vanities, nor use it as bait for the judges, with intent that ye may eat up wrongfully and knowingly a little of (other) people´s property(201).*

Yusuf Ali (English) When ye divorce women, and they fulfil the term of their (´Iddat), do not prevent them(265) from marrying persons of their choice, if they mutually agree on equitable terms. This instruction is for all amongst you, who believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is (the course Making for) most virtue and purity amongst you and Allah knows, and ye know not.*
17 Al-Baqarah Verse 268 (2:268:4) وَيَأْمُرُكُمْ ويأمركم ve ye/murukum and orders you أ م ر
Yusuf Ali (English) The Evil one threatens you with poverty and bids you to conduct unseemly. Allah promiseth you His forgiveness and bounties(318). And Allah careth for all and He knoweth all things.*
18 Al-Baqarah Verse 272 (2:272:26) وَاَنْتُمْ وانتم ve entum while you اَنْتُمْ
Yusuf Ali (English) It is not required of thee (O Messenger., to set them on the right path(320), but Allah sets on the right path whom He pleaseth. Whatever of good ye give benefits your own souls, and ye shall only do so seeking the "Face(321)" of Allah. Whatever good ye give, shall be rendered back to you, and ye shall not Be dealt with unjustly.*
19 Al-Baqarah Verse 282 (2:282:124) وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ ويعلمكم veyu’allimukumu And teaches ع ل م
Yusuf Ali (English) O ye who believe! When ye deal with each other, in transactions involving future obligations in a fixed period of time, reduce them to writing(329) Let a scribe write down faithfully as between the parties: let not the scribe refuse to write: as Allah(330) Has taught him, so let him write. Let him who incurs the liability dictate, but let him fear His Lord Allah, and not diminish aught of what he owes. If they party liable is mentally deficient, or weak, or unable Himself to dictate(331), Let his guardian dictate faithfully, and get two witnesses, out of your own men(332), and if there are not two men, then a man and two women, such as ye choose, for witnesses, so that if one of them errs, the other can remind her. The witnesses should not refuse when they are called on (For evidence). Disdain not to reduce to writing (your contract) for a future period, whether it be small or big: it is juster in the sight of Allah, More suitable as evidence, and more convenient to prevent doubts among yourselves but if it be a transaction hich ye carry out on the spot among yourselves, there is no blame on you if ye reduce it not to writing. But take witness whenever ye make a commercial contract; and let neither scribe nor witness suffer harm. If ye do (such harm), it would be wickedness in you. So fear Allah; For it is Allah that teaches you. And Allah is well acquainted with all things(333). If ye are on a journey, and cannot find a scribe, a pledge with possession (may serve the purpose)(334). And if one of you deposits a thing on trust with another(335), let the trustee (faithfully) discharge his trust, and let him Fear his Lord conceal not evidence; for whoever conceals it, - his heart is tainted(336) with sin. And Allah knoweth all that ye do.*
20 Ali 'Imran Verse 28 (3:28:22) وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ ويحذركم ve yuhażżirukumu And warns you ح ذ ر
Yusuf Ali (English) Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah. except by way of precaution, that ye may Guard yourselves from them(373). But Allah cautions you (To remember) Himself; for the final goal is to Allah.*
21 Ali 'Imran Verse 30 (3:30:21) وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ ويحذركم ve yuhażżirukumu And warns you ح ذ ر
Yusuf Ali (English) "On the Day when every soul will be confronted with all the good it has done, and all the evil it has done, it will wish there were a great distance between it and its evil. But Allah cautions you (To remember) Himself. And Allah is full of kindness to those that serve Him."
22 Ali 'Imran Verse 49 (3:49:31) وَاُنَبِّئُكُمْ وانبئكم ve unebbi-ukum And I inform you ن ب أ
Yusuf Ali (English) "And (appoint him) a messenger to the Children of Israel, (with this message): "´I have come to you, with a Sign from your Lord, in that I make for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah's leave(390): And I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and I quicken the dead, by Allah.s leave; and I declare to you what ye eat, and what ye store(391) in your houses. Surely therein is a Sign for you if ye did believe;*
23 Ali 'Imran Verse 50 (3:50:13) وَجِئْتُكُمْ وجئتكم Ve ci/tukum And I (have) come to you ج ي أ
Yusuf Ali (English) "´(I have come to you), to attest the Law which was before me. And to make lawful to you part of what was (Before) forbidden to you; I have come to you with a Sign from your Lord. So fear Allah, and obey me.
24 Ali 'Imran Verse 51 (3:51:4) وَرَبُّكُمْ وربكم ve rabbukum and your Lord ر ب ب
Yusuf Ali (English) "´It is Allah Who is my Lord and your Lord; then worship Him. This is a Way that is straight.´"

Yusuf Ali (English) Say: "O People of the Book! come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but Allah. that we associate no partners with him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah(402)." If then they turn back, say ye: "Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah.s Will).*

Yusuf Ali (English) Ah! Ye are those who fell to disputing (Even) in matters of which ye had some knowledge(403)! but why dispute ye in matters of which ye have no knowledge? It is Allah Who knows, and ye who know not!*

Yusuf Ali (English) Say: "O ye People of the Book! Why obstruct ye those who believe, from the path of Allah, Seeking to make it crooked, while ye were yourselves witnesses (to Allah.s Covenant)(426)? but Allah is not unmindful of all that ye do."*
31 Ali 'Imran Verse 123 (3:123:5) وَاَنْتُمْ وانتم ve entum while you اَنْتُمْ
Yusuf Ali (English) Allah had helped you at Badr, when ye were a contemptible little force; then fear Allah. thus May ye show your gratitude.(444)*

Yusuf Ali (English) Ye did indeed wish for death before ye met him: Now ye have seen him with your own eyes, (And ye flinch!)

Then did He divert you from your foes in order to test you.(463) But He forgave you: For Allah is full of grace to those who believe.*
34 An-Nisa Verse 26 (4:26:5) وَيَهْدِيَكُمْ ويهديكم ve yehdiyekum and to guide you ه د ي
Yusuf Ali (English) Allah doth wish to make clear to you and to show you the ordinances of those before you; and (He doth wish to) turn to you (In Mercy): And Allah is All-knowing, All-wise.
35 An-Nisa Verse 31 (4:31:10) وَنُدْخِلْكُمْ وندخلكم ve nudḣilkum and We will admit you د خ ل
Yusuf Ali (English) If ye (but) eschew the most heinous of the things which ye are forbidden to do, We shall expel out of you all the evil in you, and admit you to a gate of great honour.
36 An-Nisa Verse 43 (4:43:8) وَاَنْتُمْ وانتم ve entum while you اَنْتُمْ
Yusuf Ali (English) O ye who believe! Approach not prayers with a mind befogged,(562) until ye can understand all that ye say,- nor in a state of ceremonial impurity (Except when travelling on the road), until after washing your whole body. If ye are ill, or on a journey, or one of you cometh from offices of nature, or ye have been in contact with women, and ye find no water,(563) then take for yourselves clean sand or earth, and rub therewith your faces and hands. For Allah doth blot out sins and forgive again and again.*
37 An-Nisa Verse 104 (4:104:13) وَتَرْجُونَ وترجون ve tercûne while you (have) hope ر ج و
Yusuf Ali (English) And slacken not in following up the enemy: If ye are suffering hardships, they are suffering similar hardships; but ye have Hope from Allah, while they(620) have none. And Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom.*
38 An-Nisa Verse 131 (4:131:15) وَاِيَّاكُمْ واياكم ve iyyâkum and yourselves إِيَّا
Yusuf Ali (English) To Allah belong all things in the heavens and on earth.(640) Verily we have directed the People of the Book before you, and you (o Muslims) to fear Allah. But if ye deny Him, lo! unto Allah belong all things in the heavens and on earth, and Allah is free of all wants, worthy(641) of all praise.*
39 An-Nisa Verse 141 (4:141:22) وَنَمْنَعْكُمْ ونمنعكم ve nemna’kum and we protected you م ن ع
Yusuf Ali (English) (These are) the ones who wait and watch about you: if ye do gain a victory from Allah, they say: "Were we not with you?"- but if the unbelievers gain a success, they say (to them): "Did we not gain an advantage over you, and did we not guard you from the believers?" but Allah will judge betwixt you on the Day of Judgment. And never will Allah grant to the unbelievers a way (to triumphs) over the Believers.(650)*
40 Al-Ma'idah Verse 12 (5:12:31) وَلَاُدْخِلَنَّكُمْ ولادخلنكم ve leudḣilennekum and I will surely admit you د خ ل
Yusuf Ali (English) Allah did aforetime take a covenant from the Children of Israel,(709) and we appointed twelve captains among them. And Allah said: "I am with you: if ye (but) establish regular prayers, practise regular charity, believe in my messengers, honour and assist them, and loan to Allah a beautiful loan,(710) verily I will wipe out from you your evils, and admit you to gardens with rivers flowing beneath; but if any of you, after this, resisteth faith, he hath truly wandered from the path or rectitude."(711)*
41 Al-Ma'idah Verse 20 (5:20:15) وَجَعَلَكُمْ وجعلكم v ece’alekum and made you ج ع ل
Yusuf Ali (English) Remember Moses said to his people: "O my people! Call in remembrance the favour of Allah unto you, when He produced prophets among you,(721) made you kings,(722) and gave you what He had not given to any other among the peoples.(723)*
42 Al-Ma'idah Verse 20 (5:20:17) وَاٰتٰيكُمْ واتيكم ve âtâkum and He gave you أ ت ي
Yusuf Ali (English) Remember Moses said to his people: "O my people! Call in remembrance the favour of Allah unto you, when He produced prophets among you,(721) made you kings,(722) and gave you what He had not given to any other among the peoples.(723)*
43 Al-Ma'idah Verse 72 (5:72:19) وَرَبَّكُمْۜ وربكم ve rabbekum and your Lord ر ب ب
Yusuf Ali (English) They do blaspheme who say: "(Allah) is Christ the son of Mary." But said Christ:(782) "O Children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Whoever joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help.*
44 Al-Ma'idah Verse 91 (5:91:12) وَيَصُدَّكُمْ ويصدكم ve yasuddekum and hinders you ص د د
Yusuf Ali (English) Satan´s plan is (but) to excite enmity and hatred between you, with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah, and from prayer: will ye not then abstain?
45 Al-Ma'idah Verse 95 (5:95:8) وَاَنْتُمْ وانتم ve entum while you اَنْتُمْ
Yusuf Ali (English) O ye who believe! Kill not game while in the sacred precincts or in pilgrim garb.(800) If any of you doth so intentionally, the compensation is an offering, brought to the Ka´ba, of a domestic animal equivalent to the one he killed,(801) as adjudged by two just men among you; or by way of atonement, the feeding of the indigent; or its equivalent in fasts: that he may taste of the penalty of his deed. Allah forgives what is past: for repetition Allah will exact from him the penalty. For Allah is Exalted, and Lord of Retribution.*
46 Al-Ma'idah Verse 117 (5:117:12) وَرَبَّكُمْۚ وربكم ve rabbekum and your Lord ر ب ب
Yusuf Ali (English) "Never said I to them aught except what Thou didst command me to say, to wit, ´worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord´;(830) and I was a witness over them whilst I dwelt amongst them; when Thou didst take me up Thou wast the Watcher over them, and Thou art a witness to all things.(831)*
47 Al-An'am Verse 58 (6:58:11) وَبَيْنَكُمْۜ وبينكم ve beynekum and between you ب ي ن
Yusuf Ali (English) Say: "If what ye would see hastened were in my power, the matter would be settled at once between you and me.(878) But Allah knoweth best those who do wrong."*
48 Al-An'am Verse 91 (6:91:31) وَعُلِّمْتُمْ وعلمتم ve ’ullimtum And you were taught ع ل م
Yusuf Ali (English) No just estimate of Allah(909) do they make when they say: "Nothing doth Allah send down to man (by way of revelation)" Say: "Who then sent down the Book which Moses brought?- a light and guidance to man:(910) But ye make it into (separate) sheets for show,(911) while ye conceal much (of its contents): therein were ye taught that which ye knew notneither ye nor your fathers." Say: "(Allah) (sent it down)": Then leave them to plunge in vain discourse and trifling.*
49 Al-An'am Verse 130 (6:130:12) وَيُنْذِرُونَكُمْ وينذرونكم ve yunżirûnekum and warning you ن ذ ر
Yusuf Ali (English) "O ye assembly of Jinns and men! came there not unto you messengers from amongst you,(953) setting forth unto you My signs, and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They will say: "We bear witness against ourselves." It was the life of this world that deceived them. So against themselves will they bear witness that they rejected Faith.*
50 Al-A'raf Verse 69 (7:69:19) وَزَادَكُمْ وزادكم ve zâdekum and increased you ز ي د
Yusuf Ali (English) "Do ye wonder that there hath come to you a message from your Lord through a man of your own people, to warn you? call in remembrance that He made you inheritors after the people of Noah, and gave you a stature tall among the nations. Call in remembrance the benefits (ye have received) from Allah. that so ye may prosper."
